Whenever I need lab work, the tech. has a hard time finding my vein to get the blood...last time used the vein in my hand. What causes that?

It may also be that your veins are just laying low. I know because I actually asked about when they were poking at me again. Now I'd rather ask them to do my hand straight away because if they have a couple of attempts on my arm then I've black and blue bruises on there as well.

I agree. I just wonder what causes our veins to be that way? My hands and feet are great for lab work but, arms are hard. They called the hand one today "the butterfly".

The tech may not be very well trained. Veins roll and a good lab tech will be able to anticipate which way the vein will roll by feeling it.
