Daredevil Car Jump

Split timing shot - Just before he hit the stack of cars. What a great timed shot for a small digital camera.

Okay Saturday night was the night of Destructiuon that I took my grandsons to. They had their excitement with the Monster trucks and thre school bus races. Now I waited patiently for my excitement. The daredevil T-Bone car jump. This shot is a hair of a second prior to him hitting the middle car in this shot. This is not a professional stunyt man it is a local race driver from Hobby Stock class. Someone like you or me. Not a pro. He hit it dead center driving the fron of his car inside the center of the middle blue van. After landing the car rolled forward from momentum then stopped and rolled backwards pulling free from the van. I have photos of the van afterwards. Anyhow he was slumped over and not moving. After the EMTs got there and tended to him he was all right but did get knocked out for about 20 seconds. What a show. I loved this one the best part of all the entertainment of the night. Have you ever been to a show of daredevil car jumps or motorcycle jumps? Please share. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Fantastic shot AGB but oh wow I think I wouldn't have been able to look let alone take a picture! lol I am glad the driver was ok. I have seen this sort of thing for real but it was many years ago and really not worth me paying to go cos as you know - I hid my eyes at the big stunts! lol xxx

Sweet - Excellent stunt
Thanks. Here's a shot after the jump and the damage done to the stacked car and vans. I had the lens set to take 3 pictures in a one second span. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM AGB!!~

Yes, they're so much fun!! My boys loved that stuff. We saw Spanky Spangler at a monster truck show once, he jumped from the top of the arena and unfortunately broke his leg--and he was a professional! We went to the trucks, the dirt bike races, funny cars--we saw Robosaurus there, I loved that thing--and stuff like that.

I actually worked with the Chitwood Thrill show. I did set-up and grounds work only. Have you ever heard of the Chitwoods at all? They did a lot of daredevil acts back in the 60's and 70's. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I was never interested in that stuff till I had my boys. My ex-husband probably heard of them, he loved that kind of thing.

No bob I have never been to daredivels car jumps or motorcycle jumps. The only time I seen this would have to be on tv. But I would of rather seen it in person like you.

Yes. I have been those one time before and it was in an indoor arena. It was cars, big foot trucks and motorcycles at the fairgrounds in Louisville, Kentucky. I have watched it many times on television though. I love that kind of stuff. I also like to go to mud boggs too. It is where four wheel drives trucks try to make their way down a long mud path pulling heavy weight behind them without getting stuck in the mud and making it to the end of the path with their full load.

I used to go up North to a small town, population 125, during their Ma and Pa Days Festival. They actually had a huge Mud Bog Race that drew entries from many states. It was a blast. The festival closed due to lack of funds recently though. I love all things revolving arounds vehicles of any type and crashes or the possibility of them. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That is a great picture and the timing was so good it seems to me. Glad the driver was ok. I have seen cars jump cars but not hit them like that and have seen motorcycles jump. The crowd seems to really like the motorcycles.

OMG..... how scary for his family and friends! and of course all the spectators as well. This is the stuff that frightens me-- when I go to any derbies-- the drivers getting hurt. I'm glad the driver was ok--- I wonder if he will continue to do this hobby. I've never been to any stunt driving event--- just to monster truck shows & demolition derbies. I think it would be cool to watch this as well.... I'm going to look for some kind of event in the area and take my daughter- I'm sure she would Love it!
