Moonlight's Ray of Hope...Squashed...

I started a discussion a few weeks ago about the fact that Moonlight had been canceled. But, I also had found that there might be a chance that it would be picked up by the CW network and that provided a little bit of a ray of hope for those of us who love to look at Alex O'Loughlin's gorgeous face as Mick St. John, as well as the other members of the very pretty cast. And, of course...the absolutely fabulous storyline. But, noooooooooo! We lose! The CW network will not be saving Moonlight from Show Graveyard. Ugh! I loved Moonlight! From the very beginning, the delicious cast kept me wanting more and looking forward to each new episode. But, apparently, neither CBS, nor the CW Network wanted Moonlight's 8 million viewers! Well shoot...what more do you want on a Friday night? Jeez! Some people go out on Fridays which means that, there were still 8 million of us that stay at home, or TiVo'd it and were adoringly in love with that show! But, whatever! I guess 8 million people is small potatoes to CBS and the CW! I say...Bite Me! LOL! Get it? Moonlight? Vampires? Bite Me? Oh, never mind! LOL!
So, does this news upset you like it upsets me? Was is a double slap in the face after it was canceled and then potentially given a second life, only to be denied?

I have 2 words. CBS SUCKS!
I am still not watching that network!
They are Idiots.
How they can take the best show EVER off at the height of it's
popularity.. and other countries were/are still watching it and getting hooked on it.. Is beyooooond Stuuuupid!

I didn't know that other countries are still watching it. I heard that they don't have plans to release the DVD of the season out to the US but are going to be releasing it in other countries. But, I hadn't heard that they are still on in other countries. I thought they broke down their set and I have even read that Alex O'loughlin has a new role that has as yet been released.
It really was a great show. I don't blame you for hating on CBS. I have my own issues with that network. LOL!
So, to sort of quench your need for a vampire show, maybe consider giving True Blood (Sunday nights on HBO) a shot. I watched the premiere last night and, I liked it.

Yea the other countries didn't start getting to watch the 1st season until basically we had already seen it AND had discovered
that that was all we were going to get...
they were making comments on you tube about which episode they had just seen and then everyone had to break the news to them that it had been cancelled and when it was done they were going to get NO MORE...
also I do not get HBO and even if I did - I don't think I would have watched it.. as far a I am concerned the perfect vampire -hell the PERFECT SHOW in general was on and some IDIOTS cancelled it. and other IDIOTS didn't pick it up and... YES, I am BITTER. LOL

Oh No!! This is such sad news..now what am i'm going to watch on fridays after Ghost whisperer? Moonlight had such neat people in it.Gorgeous Mick for one..and the ending now is lost just to our imagination with his name on the list.
They have some really dumb and almost exactly multiple theme shows out there that they keep, but get rid of ones that have viewers of a unique show???
Like you said Friday nights are a tough night for TV since alot go to the movies or games at school functions, but for us stay at home ones..WHY?Why do we keep losing our faves?

It is really frustrating, isn't it Rosekitty? Like you said, there are so many shows that are similar to others (CSIs, Law & Orders, etc...) and Moonlight was a bit of a broken mold and, they got rid of it despite the fact that 8 million people watched it! WTF?
Hot cast, great stories, entertaining...down the drain.

I was almost in tears when I read on Comcast.net that CBS wouldn't be bringing back this show. Now I pretty much will only have the ABC shows left! With the exception of Ghost Whisperer, I don't plan on watching CBS again!

It really does stink that they won't be bringing it back. It was a really great show. I still have lots of shows on CBS that I watch but, that was really disappointing. I feel like it was a slap in the face of the fans simply because we weren't a big enough number for CBS. I wish a smaller network like CW took it over but, I didn't get my wish!

aw man. i even signed a bunch of petitions that i found online to save the show. i can't believe no one wanted it. i'm going to hold onto a slim hope that someone will save it. it was such a good show and i agree that it didn't have a chance starting out on a friday night. man, i'm bummed.

Hey, boys and girls. If you want to see Moonlight again here are the two sites that may help do just that:
http://www.moonlightblooddrive.org/Alex.html
http://www.savemoonlight.com
I put an alert in my calendar to remind me every few days and I email them or do something I think will help. Spread the word or send these addresses on to others. We can't give up!

Thank you for these links! I hope it helps but, I read a couple of days ago that they actually finally tore the set down and it seems that they have moved on. I am hoping that they change their minds but, I think all hope is pretty much squashed at this point.
