Well, as myLot was slow for me today and the temps were in the low 70's with sunshine I decided to wash my car. I washed it inside and outside. I used ArmorAll on the dash and all other vinyl areas inside the car as well as on the tires. Windows now sparkle with the sun glistening on them. No grandkids fingerprints or palmprints on them now. I did the floor mats as well. Now it is all shiny and clean and smells a lot better. I hate car washes most times though. Do you wash by hand or go to a car wash be it the drive through kind or the coin operated ones? I do mine most times in the summer and fall in my driveway by hand. I get a much cleaner car this way.

I take it to the car wash a couple times a year. I really need to clean mine out and my mats are filthy.
I might just treat the poor thing to a detailer. If I get the job I'm interviewing for tomorrow, I'll do that. I have a great little Toyota that's never given me a moment of trouble and it deserves to be clean!

I ashed the rubber mats good and set them aside in the garage and put the carpet mats back in for spring and summer or until it snows again. I am a devote GM man as I worked there, my older brother worked there, and dad retired from GM after 30+ years. Plus I get a great family discount on new cars of 25%.

My younger daughter works at a car wash and does my truck when its needed for me but in this 98 weather now through fall its hot for them to work in this heat like they do.
They get paid very little and work for tips and alot don't know this and drive off without tipping so its not the best job but a free wash is nice.

That's a shame. I always tip at the drive through hand dry car washes. My son manages one as well and he does my car with detail work as well for free. But I usually leave him a real nice tip. Well the tips are split by all employess but still a nice tip is left by me. Anywhere from $5 to $10 or more depending on the job they did and their attitudes doing a free wash.

Thats so nice that your Son manages one so you know how hard they work.My daughter is a tiny thing and a Mom of 2 babies..2 1/2 and 7 months so she looks forward to those tips..she worked on 9 cars today in this heat..detailing and etc. and only 3 tipped..they aren't allowed to mention tips to customers and no sign is posted..plus if someone drives off without paying then its taken out of all of the employees paychecks..this seems unfair.
She works for me at my store plus a Leggs Hanes store at the mall..she's very busy but knows i did it when i was younger and knows she can too..I watch the babies when she works.

I prefer to wash my own car. I know what products are being used and that the job is being done right.
I have a dog and he sheds hair all over so it isn't easy to keep up with. I also have a riding harness to keep him in the back seat and it prevents the constant movement all over the car.
It isn't kid prints that I must deal with, it is dog drool trails and nose prints. I must say though, I prefer my dog to most men I have met. Besides, I think my dog is the closest I will ever get to having grandkids since my children say that they do not want children. So, my dog is my grandpet.

I wash my truck by hand actually it's much more easier to control the water... Trucks really can't go threw the car wash unless it has a topper on it.. We just bought one of those Mr. Clean car wash kits so we are going to try it out on both trucks and see how clean we can get them...

I tried that and did not like it. It still spotted up badly. I wash the top parts of the car then towel dry it. Then the sides etc. I use a small amount of special car washing liquid. I forget the brand. But it works wonders as far as cleaning and anti spotting and it's also safe for the enviroment to boot.

Hubby uses products called Dry Wash and Guard. He can clean the car even in very cold weather. It takes everything off. He has products for the inside, and to make the water bead up (like Rain X). I think when water is restricted this will be a real handy product to have.

You have been very busy today it seems. My husband or son usually takes our car to the car wash and wash it there, the coin operated kind, and brings it home to shine it all up. Sometimes my husband will wash it by hand in the summer time.

I don't have a car, Grandpa Bob. But I have a motorcycle. I gave it a time to experience a car wash in a drive through once. I watched the people there how they work and what are the usual items they use in washing the cars. So what I did was to buy those things and do myself washing my motorcycle. I have car shampoo, car polish, tire black, etc. I usually wash it on Sundays if Sunday is not a so busy day. lol

I prefer to wash mine by hand and my kids love to join me in washing the vehicles. I feel like it gets cleaner if I wash it rather than take it to a car wash.

Good job! Yesterday was my accomplishment day. I cleaned the kitchen and dining room. And a little of the living room. I finished mowing the front yard and then I made a good dinner.
Today on the other hand was errand day so I didn't get much done at home. But being out in my car reminded me how badly it needs cleaning, so I might be doing that over the weekend.
Tonight is a crock pot chicken for dinner so it's nothing fancy but it's also not done. It's taking forever! lol

I have bought a second hand car early this year and most of the time my husband does the cleaning and sometimes my 15 year old son helps as well. They both like the car so they spend more time with it. I haven't had it cleaned elsewhere yet since I have my 2 cleaners available..lol

I wash my car by hand in the drive during the warm months and take it to the car wash a few times in the winter to get the salt off. Usually I'll just hose the dust off being washing it is pointless with my paper route. lol I HATE detailing the inside. I'll vacuum it out every now and then but will pay the local car wash attendant to do a thorough detail once a year.

i don't have a car so i don't share the same experience with you. but when i was with my uncle, his driver use to wash it manually. with the use of water and soap, he does the cleaning of the car.
