Hi,
Some people are more susceptible than others to the causes of ringworm. Those who find it is to contract this infection include:
· People with eczema or other skin problems because their skin’s outer layer tends to be open, inviting the fungus into the body.
· Children before puberty are more likely to get ringworm.
· Boys tend to contract ringworm more than girls.
· Certain people may have a genetic predisposition for ring worms.
The primary ringworm cause is from several different microscopic organisms, belonging to a group called “Dermatophytes,” that live on the outer layer of the skin. However it is often difficult to identify the source of the skin fungus. Different Dermatophytes cause Ringworm of the scalp, body, nails and feet (commonly known as athlete’s foot).
The fungi central to ringworm cause enjoys warm, moist areas where infection can thrive. This includes places where you tend to sweat, including the groin, feet and underarms. Ringworm tends to enter the body through a break in the skin, such as a scratch, cut, or broken skin due to eczema.

From Wikipedia:
Ringworm, also known as "Tinea", is an infection of the skin, characterized by a reddish to brownish raised or bumpy patch of skin that may be lighter in the center, giving the appearance of a 'ring'. Contrary to its name, ringworm is not caused by a worm but by parasitic fungi (Dermatophytosis). It can exist anywhere on the body.
Fungi are organisms that survive by eating plant or animal material, those that cause parasitic infection (dermatophytes) feed on keratin, the material found in the outer layer of skin, hair, and nails. These fungi thrive best on skin that is moist, hot, and hidden from the light. Together with the other dermatophytosis, up to 20 percent of the population has one of these infections at any given moment.

well its a sort of fungi which attaches to the skin and feeds from the skin. sounds horrific huh. it can be easily removed during the earlier stages, but if you get careless and keep stretching it might spread out all over the body and on to the people who lives with you. By then you might have to put some strong dosages and stay naked all day. Heat and uncleanliness causes ring worms sometimes while the other times they get on to you from some one who already has it. So if your having it take medication now.
