Glaucoma treatment

I had an optometrist appointment today. Two weeks ago he determined that I had a tiny cataract on my left eye, but wanted to do some more tests before sending me to a surgeon.
Today's test showed glaucoma in my left eye in addition to the cataract. He said it was treatable with eye drops and in this day and age wasn't a big deal. Well, It's not his eye! I'm not terrified, but I'm apprehensive. I have an appointment with the glaucoma Dr. in a week. I want this fuzzy vision gone, but that doesn't relieve the apprehension. Has anyone here had any experience with glaucoma that would help relieve my fears?

Glucoma runs in my family and i also dealt with it in my professional life. The best thing that i can tell you is to get on-line and read up on it (info always helps put your mind at ease). Also it is treated with eye-drops and can often be kept under control this way. You just need to pay paticular attention to you eyes and if something seems "off" make sure you get in and let your dr. have a look! Good luck and let us know what the Dr. says.

I have never had any glaucoma but my friend back home
has it and she said its not any big deal now days with'
the treatment she uses. I trust her judgement as she is
an intelligent woman so I would go with your doctor.
'dont stress out as stress always makes any ailment much
worse. I found that along with the shingles I have now
triggered IBS which has not bothered me in years.but I
found that I had been really stressing over the shingles
and also I ate some salsa with red peppers that triggered the
IBS to start with. stress needs to be eliminated as much
as you can.beaddoodler you say you have fuzzy vision, just a
thought, have you been tested for diabetes? I started out having
fuzzy vision and in the course of seeing the eye doctor heinsisted on a diabetes test, binggo I tested extremely
positive for diabetes. it only takes a short time and if you
do not have it well you know you are okay.It is well worth
being tested. a zillion people so I am told have diabetes and
do not even know it.

No, I hadn't given diabetes a thought. It runs in my ex's family, so I encourage my children to have regular tests done, but, to my knowledge there's no history of it in my family, so it just didn't occur to me.
