Discussion with 100 responses. Is that possible?

Someone mentioned that he would rather start a dicussion and got 100 responses. That is a novel idea and certainly difficult. What kind of topic would attract 100 responses? Has it been done? How many were the most responses for one day? What topic would you suggest?

Eh... That's very very hard. Even if you post a discussion which can catch everyone's eyeball, you are not able to guarantee your discussion can be viewed by 100 people. I think it's very hard. However, I'm always dreaming that I can get 100 responses. After all I'm a realistic person.

I will try to watch out for discussions with 100 responses from now on. It would be something to behold and to discover which topics attract a lot of responses would be a sure eye-opener.

OK i have started a lot of discussion and i have never received more than 30 responses... The fist discussion i started was called the other women and that got like 25 responses and now its as like 28 responses and my discussion was at top of today's top discussion... I don't see how it possible

That's pretty awesome! I don't think I have ever had today's top discussion. I wondered how it would be like but I seldom check the top discussions so I never found out if any of my discussions ever made it there. What I used to have were 0 responses and it kind of bothered me so I embarked on a project of responding only to those discussions with 0 responses after 24 hours. It was tedious work and I soon realized that these discussions were made by newbies who just went and wrote anything that came to their heads, a lot of them were one-liners. I soon gave that up considering that if they did not care enough for their discussions to at least write a few lines about it, then I was not going to waste my time on them too.

I have had a couple with 100+ responses. One was about my daughter being pregnant I think and another was about a daily earnings milestoen for me. No specific topic is quaranteed to generate 100 responses. It depends on a few factors, being a quality filled discussion. Having a large list of friends that may see it as well. And also if it makes it inot the myLot daily digest helps attract more responses. I don't think I ever got 100 responses in one day though. I think it was very close though.

Having had 100+ responses you would be in a position to know what it takes to get that. I agree that having a lot of friends would help. Random responders can't be the majority I suppose.

What ever the topic might be,but it should be universal,like it should not hurt feelings of an individual,and the topic should be hot and attractive,so definately will get more than 100 responses.

I agree that the topic should always be positive and helpful. 100 responses that promoted arguments and strife is hardly attractive to me.

Discussion with 100 responses..this is kind of dream..It is too difficult to get 100 responses.And also it is a kind of luck to get 100 responses.I had startes many discussiond and i haven't crossed even 15 responses up to now.And also i am a new comer to mylot.Just 20 days ago i had register in this site.And it attracted me a lot.An now i was addicted to it.
In my view discussion with 100 responses is a kind of dream and also by luck we can get 100 responses....happy mylottinggggg

Yes, this is very feasible. I have actually seen them myself and I think the very first thing you need to do to attain this is to have loads and loads of friends who can see your post.
I have even seen one post that had more than 500 responses. Too bad I didn't bookmark it so I can show here the proof.
You can have one too if the topic is really that catchy. I haven't managed to get as far as 100 responses myself but I got about 70 and it's already something.

Well, I don't think it took years to accumulate that much responses. I saw it when I just started here in myLot in early 2007. Actually the topic was very simple and it was about getting paid. But I probed the user's profile and saw that she's got about a thousand friends.

Wow! 500 responses. If you've seen it, I don't need proof. I believe you. I wonder how many years it took to accumulate the responses? This would show how timely or relevant the discussion is, if it spans several years and is still being responded to.

Hi there underdogtoo! I don't think it is impossible for someone to get 100 or more responses. But I think this was not earned in just one day. Two days or more perhaps. I have seen a lot of discussions posted here that even have more than 200 responses. I do not know for sure what specific topics will enable you to get that much response. I am sure that the topics should be very interesting to most people here.

It would be an true feat to have 100 responses all in one day. Still, maybe someone will post a discussion which will attract a lot of responses. That would be something to see.

What irritates me in mylot is the availability of a really good a very good topic, so if you like to get 100 response you must start a really very good topic here which can attract almost all peoples of any age group, male or female, any one and this is very hard to choose we don't know which topic will hit, so keep on posting good topics instead of the regular one here

What ever topic i start maximum only 15 members will reply which hurts me lot i expect more than 20 to 30 only 5 to 15 people will respond. I too wish to 100 responses
it is possible under hard work only you have to have touch with all those 100 persons .
I wish i my life time at least once it will cross 50.If you get 100% your will be very much happy right.1 person likes this

With a lot of friends and referals and just the right topic Iwould say it is achievable. I have seen a few that hav had 100+ repsonses but really no specific topic. It's all about the interest and the timing I suppose.

Hello underdogtoo! I have a discussion who reached 100 responses but I didn't get it for just one day. I think I started 2 months or 3 months ago. I guess, in order to reach that number of responses, just think of the discussion that is interesting and that everybody could relate to.
