Do you use Heliums menotrship program? Or are you a mentor on the site? I have been contacted by one by email and am going to start using this program to help strengthen my writing skills and get some writing stars. I hope it works. Have any of you used this before and do you think it is helpful?

I am registered with Helium but I am not familiar with the mentor program. I am interested to learn more. I may try it out and will follow back up with you. I appreciate the question you posted because I learned something new that could help me as well.

It's nice to learn something new everyday...and my mentor has helped me tremendously and I have only worked with her for a few days. In fact, I just edited my own piece on my own and leapfrogged it and it is getting a better ranking....so in a way after her editing of my articles I am looking at them with a different eye. Which is refreshing as a writer. And it is encouraging me to leapfrog my others to get some writing stars. How long have you been with Helium? I have been with them for close to a year now.

I have only been with Helium since about October or November of 2007. I enjoy it, but I think I am starting to like myLot more. I am able to share my thoughts here without writing a whole article or story and still getting my point across. Even though I may not be an expert on certain topics, I still feel as if I can add value. That is the advantage I think myLot has over several other sites. Also, sometimes short posts can convey a message much better than a long drawn out piece. Sometimes, like children, the reader may tune the writer out after too much blah, blah, blah. It is ok if the writer has something to say but sometimes I have a difficult time keeping to the point, yet stretching my piece to meet a specific word count. I think that works against me at times.

I'm an active writer on Helium and have been writing for a long time so I haven't used them. But I have a Helium friend that used them and it helped her tremendously.

well I am just beginning to work with one and I'll see how it goes. I hope they help me out because I love to write and know that practice makes perfect, but I have never consulted a mentor before. But I can take constructive criticism better now LOL

so far it looks like they help edit your work obviously and prob gives tips on how to make them stronger. Also, this helps you gain writing stars. When I know more I will post this for everyone.
