Broken Universal Adapter Tip for Laptop

I got a big problem with my "paralyzed" laptop, a Hewlett-Packard Omnibook 4150, and it also has to do with my Targus Universal Power Adapter or Power Charger or whatever it is people call it. This was before I purchased my third 80GB external/portable hard drive at a low-cost store. Months earlier, I noticed that whenever my laptop's universal power adapter was moved deep at the plug, my laptop would shut off immediately and completely, and I also found it to be completely irritating. It's a good thing I stored ALMOST all my files to my external/portable hard drive, but there were some that I still have in my laptop's hard drive. Today, I tried to find out what went wrong with the tip for my "paralyzed laptop", and found that it was bent and wiggling like a kid's loose tooth. Seconds later, the tip came off completely! Now I already spent a bit of my SSI money for an external/portable hard drive for my desktop PC in the living room, and i'm trying to save as much as I can for moving out of my parents' house. But at the same time, I don't want to spend another mid-sized chunk of money on another universal adapter just to get the same tip. That's not a sound economic move for me. So is there a way to get another adapter tip, a spare one for my laptop without getting the charger in full with it? All I need is the tip that fits with my Omnibook 4150.
