India
June 5, 2008 10:43pm CST
There was once a man who made his living by ferrying people and their goods across a river. But his boat was so small he could take only one person or one load of goods at a time. one day the man was given three things to take across the river-a wolf,a goat and a big basket of cabbages.Because he could take only one thing at a time,he would have to leave two things behind and come back for them. And that meant trouble!!! Clue: 1)If he took the cabbages and left the wolf and the goat behind, the wolf would eat the goat!!and if he took the wolf and left the goat with the cabbages, the goat would eat the cabbages!! 2)wolf doesn't eat cabbages.. try to solve the puzzle....Write in your answer irrespective of whether the answer is correct or not.

he would have to take the goat first..as you have said the wolf wont eat the cabbage so there will be no problem if he will leave the cabbage to the wolf.. but who will be the next? if the wolf..he will eat the goat if the cabbage the goat will eat the cabbage..hehehehe a very hard question..

I would eat the goat and the cabbages if I were the ferryman and just take the wolf across. But that's just me.

Oh yeah. Take the goat first to the other side. then go back. Take the cabbage and bring it to the other side. This time, bring the goat back together with the wolf. It won't eat the goat since you're there. Then, take the wolf to the other side. It won't eat the cabbage. Then go back and take the goat.

I would say you take the goat across because wolves dont eat cabbages, and then take the wolf across and leave it on the other side, and then take the goat back across and leave it there, and take the cabbages across and leave them with the wolf, because wolves again dont eat cabbages, and then go back for the goat, and take it across, and I believe that is the correct answer.

take the goat first. and when you have the reached the side, tie the goat to a post to not allow it to run away. get the cabbage next. when you reach the other side take the goat back with you. leave the goat and get the wolf. when you reach the side where the cabbage is in tie up the wolf and bring the goat back. done!!!
