Brusing as a symptom of Fibro

Does anyone else find that they bruise easily if you have Fibro? Just a wee too much pressure on any part of my body will bruise it. I've been tested for anemia and my iron level is fine. My doctor has chalked it up to Fibro. I was wondering if anyone else bruises so easily?

I thought that it was just me. I wake up every morning with bruises on my thighs. I didn't have a clue as to where they were coming from but everything else bruises me so easy, maybe that it what it is from.

This disease is so new to doctors that some of the symptoms coming up are clueless to them. I thought I would ask here since we seem to have a good many people here with Fibro. Interstesting!!

Would you happen to have migraines? I haven't been told that they go together but since your asking I thought I could ask you LOL.

Yes I do, and especially my mother. We both have fibromyalgia. Before being diagnosed, my mother's doctor continually asked her if my dad had been being abusive. She just bruised at the slightest pressure of anything. I'm not nearly as bad with the bruising problem as she is. I however do tend to get anemic.

Thanks for responding. With so little being known about this condition, the doctors are still in the learning phase.

My mom is reading a couple of books on the subject now. I don't have any time for reading at the present time in between my full time job, freelance writing, trying to stay sane (yes, kids are still driving me nuts even after they move out), running an aviary with over 100 birds, and in the process of buying another house, upcoming remodeling of this house and then putting it on the market. An extra 30 minutes a day would be nice, but it just isn't there.

I don't have fibro but I still wanted to answer this discussion. I get bruises a lot and very easily. I have gone to the doctor about it and he says that some people just bruise easily and not to worry about it. My legs especially, are full of bruises, to the point that I don't wear shorts or skirts. They look so ugly. I bet right now if I were to count all the bruises I have on my body, I would outnumber you. I probably have about 40 bruises right now. I clean houses for a living and I guess I must bang myself a lot although I remember banging myself. I don't have to bang myself very hard, I guess, to get a big bruise.

I know that. One of the things I've noticed here though is I can get bruises and have no clue how I got them. That is how sensitive this is. My mom also has Fibro and she bruises the same way, one of the reasons I brought this up here.

Oh my gosh! That is a weird way to fall. Sounds pretty bad to have a concussion from it all too! I hope you are all now fully recovered! I've been doing a bit better lately with the Fibro in general and especially the bruising. I still get bruises though and just depending on my activities and how clumsy I am...will determine how many. lol
