Indiana has diaster areas

Indiana has 21 counties that have been declared federal diaster areas and I happen to live in one of them. The scene here on Sunday honestly looked like a war zone and we are just beginning to hear stories of how much damage has really been done. It seems as though the rain isn't stopping yet either as they are predicting more this weeekend. Are you tired of rain and has anywhere around you been flooded?

Whereabouts in Indiana are there the disaster ares ? I am thinking of moving to Indiana, either Fishers, Carmel or Zionsville, near Indiapolis. Are these area affected ? Any useful information would be helpful in deciding if this would be a good move, as we are coming from Europe, so its hard to find out a true perspective from the ground. Also, is this weather normal, or what is Normal throughout the year and have you noticed a big difference in changes of the weather ? Thanks

The disaster area is just south of Indianapolis- about 20 miles. It is so sad to see families that have lost everything and it makes you think that we should never take anything for granted. Indiana weather is so confusing as you really never know what it is going to be like. It is cold here in the winter, hot in the summer, and the weather changes alot. It seems that the past couple of years the weather has really changed. Earthquakes and floods are not normal but we have had both recently. I wish you the best if you move here. It is very flat land where you would be living, but a nice area. Why would you move to Indiana from Europe?

It sounds like Indiana has a lot to offer you and your family. Fishers and Carmel are nice areas. Let me know if you end up moving here. There are several changes in the weather. An old saying here is if you don't like the weather here just stay 5 minutes and it will change. It can be really cold and snowy here in the winter time. In January, the wind chills can be below zero. The summer brings hot and humid. Average highs in the upper 80's right now. The humidity can be very high at times. The areas that you are looking at are suburban areas and nice family areas although I am sure that they are busy areas too. Coming from a rural area to here will be a change.

I currently live in France, and the language is doing my head in now, I am half fluent, but I still struggle. I don't like the UK, I spent most my life there and just don't like it. I was thinking of going to Florida, but it is just a bit out of my price range, whereas, if I move to Indiana, I can buy a business (to qualify me for a visa), a couple of investment properties, and also a house for my family. Moving from Rural France, I believe it would be easier for my children to adjust to the different pace of life in Indiana than moving to say Florida with all its theme parks etc.

Sorry! but what is diaster? In india the weather is typical, in some places it is too heavy and in some places it is scant. 4 decades back it was different scene, it used to rain heavily for 4 to 5 days continuously. Then we use to eagerly await the sun to show up. you know for drying cloths etc.(but no floods please) But these days, since more and more forests are cut and cement jungles are increasing. Very scant rain fall. It is more hotter and hotter. Now we see rain only for few hours or we can say one or half hour in a day, resulting few crops to grow. Our farmers are facing problems. They either get rain when not required like harvest time, spoil all the growth.

It should have been disaster. It is a typo on my part. It means that the federal government has stepped in to help people due to so much damage.
