We used to live near a really great Chinese restaurant. They had a fantastic all you can eat lunch buffet (carry out) for under $10. Hubby would get a big plate and we'd split it. That was cheap eats! That was back when we didn't have any money. My favorite lunch buffet item was always the eggrolls. We don't have any really good Chinese buffets in our area now, just mostly fast food and McDonalds. But, when I get Chinese, it's always worth the trip. How often do you do the Chinese buffet? What's your favorite Chinese lunch buffet item?

I used to LOVE getting the Chinese buffet at this place where I used to live. I moved to a different state 4 1/2 years ago and I have not found a Chinese buffet that even compares to it since. It was only like $5 for a big container to go or all you can eat dine in. I normally did the to go because the container held more food than I would eat if I dinned in. I miss that place. I was called The Great Wall. YUM! You are making my want Chinese food now.

Now you're speaking my language Beautyqueen! We don't have much in this area but we do somehow have two pretty good Chinese restaurants within a mile of each other in the town where I work and they both have buffets. I usually do carry out at least once a week, sometimes twice, and it never costs me more than $3.00 for more than enough food. My favorite? That's a hard one. I love eggrolls, lo mein noodles, kung pau chicken, egg foo young, shrimp with lobster sauce, beef with peppers and onions....somebody stop me!!

Low mein noodles rock! I love that cheap food. Can't beat $3.00, not in this economy, I'm looking for any money break I can get.

Oh I love the Chinese buffet! By my job there was a very small one that was about $5, they didn't have a lot, but they did have dumplings which is my very favorite Chinese food. There is also a larger one I go to sometimes for dinner with friends, it is probably about $10 or so but it is huge! They have every kind of Chinese food you could want, plus sushi (which I don't like but it is a big draw for some people). They even have desserts. Hmmm now I want to see if I can find a coupon for that buffet, I am sure I have one somewhere.

i actually haven't done that in ages yet... looks like i have to plan to go again... :-) $10 for a buffet is really a good price... you can't get it anywhere here... the last time i go for a buffet, it costs me at least $25 per person and that is $50 for me and my hubby... but the food is fantastic and we enjoy it very much... take care and have a nice day...

Where we used to live there was the amazing chinese/japanese buffet. When I became pregnant, chinese food was one of the few things that would menauseous. My daughter has since been born, but I still can stomach chinese food. Hopefully one day it'll pass.

I love Chinese food, but I just can't stand buffets! We have a really small Chinese restaurant not too far away, and I will order from there and pick it up, but I just don't like buffets. This restaurant only has a few tables inside and there is no buffet at all. Everything always tastes fresh cooked. In a lot of buffets, the food is not kept hot enough, so I always worry about the food spoiling. Then there is the fact that a lot of children go to the buffet and stick their hands in everything...Yuck! I just can't do buffets!

There are chinese restaurant evryrwhere here where I live, but I have not seen any of them that got buffet for lunch. I am living in europe so there are not many choose actually. My dad is owning a chinese restaurant as well, and I am not so interested in these foods. It's so different from these you see in china town etc.

i do not eat at chinese buffets anymore. the one near my home was inpected and caught with rats in cages and monkey brains and the concensus was that they were passing it off as chicken to the customers. i cannot tell you how grossed out i was as i had just eaten there a week before this news broke.

I love dimsum best. Anything on the dimsum menu is my favorite. I also like Chinese style noodles whether they're fried or in some kind of soup. You're really lucky to have lunch buffet for only $10. I've never had Chinese buffet that cheap! But I'm really trying to avoid buffets no matter how goo the deal is because I always stuff myself silly, I end up with an unpleasant feeling after any kind of buffet.

I don't go as often as I used to. I only go once every few months. I like sweet and sour chicken the best. I get the lunch special so it comes with an eggroll and pork fried rice. It's a really good deal and I can usually make two meals out of it because they give you so much.

When I decide to go to the next town from here (50kms) about once a month I always have a chinese buffet. They do a nice, wide selection of meals to choose from and even desert and coffe or tea is included in the price. You can dine in and eat as much as you please. Its a great treat.
