My 6 year old schooling kid has a very weak tonsils.Once he gets sick surely his tonsils are inflamed. It is a recurring incident-specially every time the weather changes. We've sought a doctors' advises. Some would say have the tonsils removed.Others will stay leave it soon it'll stop. What concerns us is that if this goes on and on,chances are he might develop heart problems-so as they say.Is there anybody who can share a piece of advise?Or maybe you've been in the same boat as I am.Thank you very much.

Well this same thing was happening to my now 10 year old granddaughter. Her tonsils were very bad too. She would get strept throat so much.year before last she had it 5 times, she was missing so much school. The doctor said if she got it one more time the tonsils would have to come out. She had them removed last year, she feels great now, no more sickness, missed school. She is so glad that she had this surgury done. She had to remain off school one week ofter the surgury, no playing, etc. Best thing we ever did for her. You should do the same for your son, easier on them when they are young.

Tonsillectomy is now usually contraindicated in children unless associated with some other ailments that may make it necessary for its removal. So better consult with an ENT surgeon who is the ideal person to advise at this moment.

I know how you feel. This is the 4th or 5th time in the last year that my daughter has gotten tonsilitis. She woke up yesterday saying her head hurt but I checked her temperature and although she didnt look her best I sent her to school. I got a call an hour later to come pick her up because she had a 100.6 fever. Today I took her to the doctor and she does have tonsilitis yet again. They put her on Cephalexin 250 mg twice a day. Hopefully she gets better fast. We had a party to go to tomorrow I will just have to tell her to stay out of peoples faces.
