Randolph fired, Yay!

It is about time. For some reason the players weren't listening to him. I wonder if it all started with his first statement about having the Mets play like the Yankees? And it didn't help calling the NY press racists. The NY press, was he serious? And the cherry on the icing of the cake was their losing key games this season. The writing was on the walls but The Suits in the upper office should have done this in the off season. Or about a month ago. They shouldn't have done it in the middle of the night, I heard it was done at 3am.But at least the Randoplh experiment is over.

I don't know if I would say that. I think personally the team was a bit overhyped after the signing of Johan Santana. Is it a good move? Only one way to find out, see what happens from this point forward. I think personally the Mets need an overhaul change from top to bottom as far as some players and possibly even the management.

I agree with you. What is really needed is a complete overhaul from top to bottom. What is missing is passion. The Mets may not always win but they always played with passion.

If you don't have the passion or desire to play, you're going nowhere. I agree right there. I don't think is the year for the Mets as right now it seems to have problems that need to be fixed and I don't think firing Randolph is going to be get rid of every problem.

I agree it was overdue. A team with that talent on paper should be over .500. Many times the players playing with no emotion is a reflection of the manager. Now if only the Blue Jays north of the border would quickly do the same to John Gibbons and his batting coach. It is the same in Toronto as it was for the Mets. Too much talent and absolutely no offense. Pitching staff is one of the strongest in the league yet they can't manufacture a run most nights to win the close ones. They need to do it soon so that they can get back into the palyoff race.

Now it is a matter of getting the batters to going back what they were doing before Denbo came in and tried to get them them to do new things. I have never seen such a poor offense.

I think I remember him spouting racism last year when the Mets choked big time at the end of the season. Granted, I haven't read the NY newspapers, but I highly doubt that they would blame Willie's failure to manage his team to win because he is black! There are alot of talented players on that team and they haven't been producing. All teams go into a slump, but theirs began last year. Willie doesn't want to admit that he is part of the problem, not for being black, but for not being able to motivate his players to play at their best. Willie chose to blame the press and call them racists?! Oh Please!! Maybe he thought it would be a cakewalk with that talnted team. To tell his team they should play like the Yankees is definitely one reason they would tune him out. That is not the right way to get the best out of your players, comparing them to the team that gets most of the attention in NY. Playing in NY is tough, but so is playing in Chicago. Personally, I think the manager is 1/4 of a losing teams problem, the players have to own up to the rest. I do know the press doesn't have anything to do with a teams performance and no one can or should blame them for a losing season!! PEACE

I am generally happy that Mr. Randolph is out of NY because I heard that he was encouraging racism in his locker room between the American Born Players and the Latin American Players that is why they were losing the key games. But now they are winning and are closing in on the Phillies of Philadelphia, Don't be surprised to see anybody moving anytime soon, except the possibility of a Pedro Martinez Trade. Also don't expect them to make the playoffs but expect them to come close and possibly collapse again
