Not being married doesn't mean you're not committed to each other.

I think in the olden times marriage used to be a really sacred act, something that two people cherish and commit to. In time the meaning changes. These days a lot of people opt to stay together without even thinking of getting married - guess the reason is they dont want divorce! I would go into partnership but Im open to marriage as well if my partner and I both feel its what we want.

I see nothing wrong with it at all, it's their choice. Marriage is not a requirement, it's a choice. No one has to do it.

I feel that people should live together for a VERY SHORT amount of time and ONLY after they have discussed the future. If they are engaged and have a date set - then I think its ok to live together.
But just being boy/girlfriend - no IMO big mistake. I'm sure some are doing it and that's ok; so did I, which is why I'm against it.
However....
People should do what they feel is right for them.
