So hows this for a trip, I call Tech Support because my connection suddenly goes down, and while oh hold, the message states you can also visit us at and gives the website. Now mind you after going through all the menu options, I chose the one that asked if you were having connection issues. So after listening to it for the fouth time I said if I could get online I wouldn't be calling. Now I know that noone on the other end could hear me and of course Kat looked at me funny thinking I had gone off the deep end, but come on. It's just fusterating! Then to top it all off, the tech guy I talked to knew less than I did. It took him 20 mins to try to figure out what was going worng with my connection and this is 10 minuets after I told him EVERYTHING I had already done he goes through and asks me again if I did this or that. Have you gone through this too?

Unfortunately I have gone through this and not all that long ago either LOL I called Verizon and got a tech guy just like yours. They must have a manual of things to ask, with a checklist LOL

Yeah but when you already tell them that you did those things why ask again? Makes no d@mn sense if you ask me. just a waste of everyones time. esp theirs cause i know first hand working in a call center you have a time limit.

LMAO and yes they have what most places call average handle time. it is part of your stats that they use to decide raises, bonuses etc. its only one of many that they use.

I don't know about the time limit, that would drive all concerned crazy LOL When I called about my new computer having a virus built into it a couple of years ago,I must have spent over an hour with the Indian tech man. Poor guy, his English and my understanding were not compatible or we'd probably have been done in ten minutes LOL

I hate it, too. And it always seems like nobody feels responsible or you get somebody who barely speaks English. And like you I had the experience of having to trapsy through the same motions over and over again to proof that indeed something doesn't work and it's not that I the user am a 'dummy', lol. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/677879/att_rebuilding_a_monopoly_and_crushing.html?cat=3

Oh don't even get me started on the whole doesn't speak english thing lol.Thats another topic I am going to start lol. I hope you don't mind But I added you to my favorites on AC. Very through and informative article from what I read of it. I have worked for an internet company and I have built a pc from the ground up, I hate it when these guys want to talk down to me cause I am a woman. I know more than half of them do lol. I only call when I need them to change something or fix something on their end!

Thanks! I know it's long, probably too long. But I had to get it off my chest. It still irritated me even half a year later.

Hello Erilyn, I have been through this quite a few times. I think that it doesnt matter what you tell them, they really arent that brite, they have a script to follow and nothing else matters. If their script doesnt fix it then they just say, we'll have to send a tech to see what the problem is. Well, Duh!! Thats what I asked for in the first place! Anyway, its good to see that your online! Cheers, Tianna

Thank you! Yeha I don't think they have a real clue for the most part about what is actually going on. Whats sad is that I know a lot about it and can't get that job makes you wonder who they know doesn't it?
