Do you cook cakes and slices for your lunchbox?

My house is currently filled with the aroma of a freshly baked slice - yum! I try and bake at least one cake, loaf or slice a week to pack into lunchboxes for the week. I find they are a healthy alternative to packing chips or shop bought biscuits covered in chocolate. At the moment my oat and sultana slice is cooling so I can cut it up. What healthy slice is your favourite? Or would you prefer to take a cake or a muffin?

I like to make my own healthy versions of muffins and cookies. I love banana breads, carrot cake, and oatmeal cookies. I don't make them every week though.

That sounds delightful! I had not thought about baking a cake versus store bought chips and such. But it does make sense. And you get to control the sugar levels and add fresh ingredients. I like that idea! Makes me wish my oven was working! I have a mini oven that is big enough for small cakes and muffins, but nothing too big. I might try a mini-loaf out.

I make shortbread from scratch which the kids will take in there lunchboxes and ill also make some for the cookie jar. Slices i try and do some with different types of dried fruits. Also like making flapjacks but there kids arnt really keen on them.
