Love notes - do you still keep them?

I'm talking about real paper love notes, handwritten, etc from a girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, or wife. I had one that I kept for years, in my wallet, from my ex-husband. I don't carry it any more and haven't since I divorced, but I am thinking that I would love to have one to carry with me again. It just seems a little strange to ASK your spouse to write one.. lol! Do you have or carry old love notes? In this day and age of so much texting, it's kind of a little tie to the past to me. I have a 3 ring binder full of flattened out notes that I received from friends from back in school, most of them are 15-20 years old. I think that next year when we send our little daughter off to kindergarten, I will put a little love note in her pocket. =)

I sure do. I have pretty much all of them both from hubby and the kids. Even the ones I wrote. I still have that letter the tooth fairy wrote to my daughter, the first I love you mommy that the kids wrote to me etc. I still write them too. I often hide a small love note in hubby's lunch, or a pocket, or something where he won't expect to find it. The same with the kids. I think it's great both to write and to receive :)

They are pretty cool, aren't they? It's nice to have a little something that reminds you how much somebody loves you.

aww, that sounds like such a cute way to have my daughter remember me, i love the idea you suggested. Me, I do have a scrapbook with all the letters my first love gave me, even one he sent me about his first kiss, which was with me. Those things are so precious I think because when you become adult it seems like expressing yourself so openly is off limits or maybe people just get too busy and I thought about it the other day when I got rid of a lot of things that were just causing clutter (shoes from babies, near empty cosmetic containers, books ive read, notebooks just lying around, a hand shredder i never used) but I think it is good clutter and for the ironic part, my first love was also gay but still he holds a special place in my heart and he always treated me like a queen.

I just started digitally scrapbooking (which is a lot easier than doing it with supplies lol) and I am going to work on some books which will be printed and bound and sent to me. One of them is going to be my love story with my husband, one of them will be for my daughter about my life before I was her mommy. One of them will also be all about her - from when we found out we were expecting her, when she was born, her 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th birthdays, her friends, and other milestones to date - swimming lessons, her ballet recital, helping make cookies, riding her bike, roller skating, etc. Creating a visual record of memories like this and keeping them is important, I am trying to get old photos from my mom to scan so I can do a book with my grandparents, parents, etc too.

LOL! We are techies, since I bought my hubby a text-friendly phone with a qwerty keyboard, he now texts me almost every day. I love it, he was never big into the phone but texting is up his alley. I'm a textoholic, if I have someone to talk to I will text for an hour. LOL!

Funny, i thought i was the only one who would actually keep notes from friends and classmates way back from high school. i actually keep them in a thick box with brown and gold print (looks like a treasure box to me). i keep them there because they are truly my most precious treasures. They're the memories of my youth. There are even notes from my friends who are now in different parts of the world. And of course the love notes from the first man i've ever loved.

I'm nostalgic and I love my memories. I even still have at least one of the construction paper hearts stapled together full of little valentines from classmates when I was in grade school. I still have a few notes from my high school boyfriend.

I will be asking my hubby to write me one... not to tell me when he plans to give it to me but just a suggestion and then he can decide the occasion. I'll carry it in my wallet like I did the last one I had =) I had a voicemail from him that I kept on my office phone for months too... that was before we had actually 'met' in person.

I still kept everything I had since high school... They're safe inside a box. I do not want to throw them since I think it would be waste and that I would be throwing away memories too. Hehe. I don't carry them around though. Hehe.

Yes, corny as it sounds I keep my love letters in a box of shoe. Even if the people who wrote them are already married to other people I don't know. I still keep them. I just can't bring myself to throw them all away or burn them. Those letters are feelings of love, so raw so full of emotions. They touched me once and always will be. I do read them sometimes if i have nothing better to do in my spare time. They bring fond memories and sweet smile to my face. They are such a valuable treasure, that selling them to e-bay doesn't pop in my mind. But now it does. Just kidding. Where does it come from? Anyways, love letters will always have a special place in my heart.
