I started a discussion earlier asking for help in identifying this flower. But this discussion is about the "busy bee" that is pollinating this flower. It is sitting on the stamen gently sucking the nectar from this to eat and transfer it elswhere in the very near future. I just love seeing these tiny little bees. It is smaller than a standard American housefly.

You are such a wonderful photographer! Why don't you sell your pictures? I found a place called Shutterstock--you get twenty five cents every time someone downloads one of your pictures! You could make a fortune! Me, not so much, but they'd love your pics! I'm assembling some of my best ones to upload tonight, might as well give it a shot.

that is a small bee. I grew up sortof surrounded by bees lol'my dad had a thriving honey raising business during the second world war so the sight of bee hives was always there for me
'to see please the waredhouse where they extracted honey and
'put it in pails for consumers to buy. I remember my dad taking us out on drives in the summer to visit his various beehives
he had around the county. the odd thing is I never got stung either at least not by honey bees. now wasps all they had to do was see me coming and I would get stung. But I learned to watch the bee pollinating flowers and it was fascinating to me.my dad
made a fortune during the second world war selling honey to all the people who could not get sugar rations.I was always fascinated by the fact that my dad had all these various bee hive stations on other peoples land but learned that they also
gained as our honey bees pollinated all their crops for them too.

Yeah it ery tiny. They are awesome looking though. they are allover most my flowers except the Lilies. Honey bees usually don't sting unless irritated like being squished or step on etc. That must have been cook seeing the whole process of honey production huh?

I've got those teeny little fellas all over my tomato plants. They hardly look big enough to do anything, but I guess they got the job done, because I have tomatoes and cucumbers coming in!

I have them all over the place in my flowers each year.
I take a lot of closeup photos and spot them so I try
to get good shots like this one here.
