Best man was chosen for having combat skills if bride was to be kidnapped
Brides were veiled so grooms in arranged marriage couldn't see them before vows
there was a time when a bride's wedding attire was simply the best thing in her closet (talk about "off the rack"), and could be any color, even black.
Does your family have any wedding traditions?

I do not have many really peculiar family traditions for weddings, but my friend did a nice little thing involving unity sand. Essentially, we had a mingling of families so each person poured their own sand into a vase and it created a rainbow like effect in various sand layers. Sort of a keepsake to represent the blended family.

Well, besides the blue and somehting borrowed.. I didn't have a traditional wedding I would have loved to have but it just wasn't in the budget or cards. I was married in front of the justice of the peace in a used dress that my granny gave me that was black with hot pink flowers. My mom was married 4 times and these are her sayings..Married in white you'll always fight, married in blue they'll never be true, married in black they always com back, married in red they'll always keep you in bed, married in pink it'll make them think. married in gray will make you happy every day../ or you'll always need prayer, That is all I can remember.
