Well here in Minnesota it has been hot and humid all day long. I was outside a few different times weeding, transplanting, weed trimming around the perimeter of the yard and house and also watering the gardens. Now it's so nasty that I actually have taken 3 showers today in a mer period of maybe 3 hours. This all due to the fact I couldn't stand the smell of the sweat etc. Worst thingh is I am going back out soon to continue working on my gardens etc. HAHAHA!
How many times have you showered in one days time? Have you ever gotten so smelly you couldn't even stand it yourself?

In Southeast Georgia during the summer it is hot and humid we can walk outside and sweat immediatly starts popping out everywhere. It is in the high 90's and just plain muggy and miserable. I took a shower when i got up, went to the doc. came home took a shower and then walked out to the mailbox and took another shower. When i start to bed i will take another shower. I know everyone is suppose to be saving water but i just can't walk around smelly!

That's what it was like here earlier today. As soon as I left the comfort of my A/C indoors I would break out in a sweat. I hate the humidity. The heat I can handle easily though. Me either. I hate smelling others B.O. But when I smell myself it's bad. HAHAHA!!

I shower almost every day as well. But doing all the yard work is different etc. It was tiring so I'd have to take a break. Then shower as I stunk and felt nasty. Back out again. Then another shower etc. Now it's been 4 showers and the weather is nasty so I am done with showers today. WHEW!

Just last weekend I helped my husband power wash our deck. It was very hot out in the high 90's I was so hot I went in and took a shower than went back out did some more power washing. After we were all done I took another shower. Sometimes I take a shower 3 times a day.
When I get home from work I take a shower cause where I work there is no AC and it gets so dam hot i just cant wait to jump in the shower.
The last couple of days it got as high as 100 outside.

My front deck is about 8 foot by 10 foot. So it is small enough to wash with just a broom and mild soap. I've got to refinish it this year as well. It is all sun faded and ugly now.

Only time I've watered my plants here so far was when I first planted them. Between the mulch and all the rain we have been getting, no need to water. Few years back when I had a humongus pile of logs to split, I borrowed my neighbor's splitter and went to town splitting for 3 days straight. It was hot and humid when I did this that the insect repellent was just sweating off me. I took 5 showers the first day, 3 the second and third day just to relieve the skeeter/fly bites. Then would apply more repellent. I did end up fogging the crap out of the area of woods I was splitting in and it helped big time in the skeeter/fly bites.

Hi There,
Always depends on the weather and my level of activity. If I am really active I may have a couple of showers a day. I very rarely ever have more than two. Usually if I need to cool down I just come inside and enjoy the AC. After I go running however it is not a pretty sight so I always have a shower after that.
cheers,

Even if you go in and out of the heat and humidity? Do you shower just once after doing all the oputdoor chores? Or rest taking a shower then going back again as I did?

It seems like yesterday that you wre talking about how cold it was in Minnesota.. Now it is too hot, enjoy it because the time has been flying by so fast winter will be here again before long. I have been working in my yard a time or two when my deodorant just up and went on strike with me.. A couple of times, I just sat down and held the water hose so that it would spray up in the air and land on me.. Just like a kid in a sprinkler.. It helped until I could make it to the shower.. Better take it a bit easy grandpa..

I don't think it's too hot. Just too humid. HAHAHA! A month and a half ago we had temps in the 20's and snow. Snow in May sucks. HAHAHA!! I did hose myself a little while out weeding as I was in just shorts and gardening tennis shoes. So I did cool down. But I just stunk was all.

I have taken 4 showers in one day when it's been really hot just to keep myself cooled down.. I can't stand the heat as it's been in 85-90 degree weather... We are basically getting the same temps sense your only in the next state over.. I too can't stand the smell of sweat so showering that many times a day don't hurt that's for sure..

Wow, i never felt so smelly in my life that I needed three showers like you did. LOL Hello grandpa bob. I missed many of your discussions. Well, as usual I was busy doing nothing and lost lots of time watching korean dramas online. And find myself often crying like crazy because of it, so I am not sweating like crazy like you who was busy with the garden work. Its what I like doing but I wont really do it when its really hot outside, I cant stand the heat. Most of the time When I do the garden work at home I do it in the afternoon when the sun is on its way down coz its more comfortable and plus without the heat factor.
I have not smelled like crazy that I cant even stand it, when its my own smell I can still stand it but it would depend on others who could smell to judge if its too much or not.
Have a nice day and enjoy garden

I just read your discussion about the butterflies not around your house any longer. Maybe they will find their way back now after all those showers. I have worked up a sweat many times but never bad enough that I couldn't stand myself but things might be different now that I have quit smoking and can smell again. hahahaha
Really, yes I have worked so hard that have had to shower between what chores I was doing.

Yeah here in NYC it get so hot it's unbearable. I think the most I have taken was three like you. I don't really mind sweating because I tend to sweat a lot but when I feel like it's too hot that I want to faint then I have to take a bath and to get clean. But these past few weeks it hasn't gotten that hot. But the days will come when it will get unbearable. Happy posting Grandpa Bob^_^

I can't stand to be sweaty, even if it's cool, because it makes me feel as if I'm wrapped in plastic. I used to douse myself with the hose when I got hot working outside but I just don't do it anymore, if it's too hot I won't go out.

hi Grandpa Bob last weekend I was doing the same thing, it was in the nineties to one hundred and humid, and I would shower
and then feel icky four hours later so back to the shower
and I was just typing, not working outside. now the weathers back to about 75 to 80 and much drier so feels so good and so refreshing after the heat. hope it stays that way through
July but of course it will not. lol.

Here in Minnesota we should have had a few days in the 90's but have had just one. That was like Tuesday I think. Now this wekend is going to be below normal temps. Just in the mid to low 70's both Saturday and Sunday. I am trying to get the wife to go to the Horse races Sunday. Going to be a nice day for that. Even if it rains we would sit inside the clubhouse.

it is hot and sticky here too (i live south from you, but in canada) and while it was supposed to rain today, so far we havent had any, just sticky weather. today we managed to do our grocery shopping and had a few other errands to run (old navy had flip flops on for a dollar!) and it was nice and cool in the mall!

Sometimes I have to take up to
two showers daily but only cause it
gets so hot here.
I have taken even more baths and showers
than that, but not for stickiness or sweat.
Mostly it helps bring my blood pressure down.

Hey there Grandpa Bob!
How hot did it get? I usually can't bear around 97°F here during summer. The most I had was 3 times in a day. I think that was for our ROTC back in college. Crap! That was summer! I took one before I left home, and one after the training, then one again before I slept.
I was with my friends and batchmates under the heat from 8am to 12am!!! The field was wiiiiide open and the number of times the clouds covered the sun can be counted using the fingers. On my way home that day, I was so embarrassed at the public transport. The ladies literally changed seats farther away. I'm pretty sure that most of them understood where I just came from! (hopefully)

I don't know why we get so smelly anyway..lol. I usually take a shower once a day, even if I'm out working, I sweat but I don't think I smell, at least I don't smell nothing, but I'll take my shower after I'm all done outside. Right now it hasn't been that hot here, all we've been getting is rain everyday, its raining right now and I think its 70 degrees. Whenever its rainy, I stay inside, it looks all gloomy right now anyway. All our lakes and rivers and parks are flooded, so maybe I'll send some rain your way, from Oklahoma.
