I went to staples yesterday. My Hp desktop computer that I bought that's not even quite a month old already has problems. The dvd drive on it is stuck. Anyhow the man at Staples who was very polite helpd me he pluged it in to see what I was talking about and then he called Hewitt Pakard the company that made this Desk top computer sndf he told them 3 times yesterday what had happened that the dvd drive is stuck. He was trying to help me to get another dvd rrive since this computer tower is less then a month old. I talked to them and the said they would call me back in a couple of hours I never recived a phone call. I also got insurance for up to 2 years. That the man at Staples told me about when I bought this part of the dask top. Anyhow Hewitt Packard never did call me yesterday. So I left a message to Staples yesterday. Hewitt Packard calls me today an the man that calls asks why did I email Staples and I told them well whoever I talked to yesterday said that someone would call me back later the same day. Oh says oh ok then. Start your tower. Right now I have it unplugged. I am using my older computer untill the one I bought gets fixed. I am unable to lift it due to having medical problems or multiple sclrosis anad besides that is why I went to Staples yesterday. He says oh I see then he gets smart eleic and says well if we send you a new dvd drive how are you going to fix it since you are disabled. That is when I said I have my sister and also Staples here in town. he then says the plan I bought will not cover a repairman to be sent out. Anyhow I was pretty upset when I hung up the phone with this man. Questioning me about being disabiled. I have heard that they are the top company as far as computers go. That might be true but they have rude customer service.

What a jerk he was! I hope you never have to deal with anyone like that again. For the record, I'm never shopping at Staples after hearing this. I don't need that hassle. I thought that insurance on an electronics item was supposed to cover everything. What a jip! Have you called his supervisor and complained? Those people are usually on a two way system that records calls or allows their supervisors to listen in. He could get in big trouble for saying something like that to you. His supervisor should know otherwise he'll be a jerk to someone else and keep getting away with it. Best of luck with your computer. Be well!

I have looked it up online on how to contact them. I want to send a email at least to Hewitt Packard. That is the man that was rude to me. Staples was alright. At the same time it looked like I could of got a exchange on my tower. It has been less then a month since I bought this computer tower. As soon as I go back Tuesday I am going to ask what all the insurance I bought covers. I mean it costed almost 70.00 dollars for insurance so I mean that is a lot besides the cost of the tower. Thanks for the good luck I hope it gets resolved.

Sorry to hear that you got a jerk for a customer service rep. Did you take down his name? If so, I would call back and ask to speak to his supervisor. Rude people shouldn't be allowed to work with the public.

Don't you just hate it when Customer service personel treates you like you are stupid! I have got into arguments with customer service depts for other companies and that usually gets results. Everyone has a person over them.

That is very true . The next day I called back and talked to another man and I told him how I was treated by the man I talked to the day before. He also listened to the conversations that I had had with the man the day before. I am not sure if anything was done but the man i talked to the next day was so uch nicer then the day before. I guess because I let him know how upset I was about the whole conversation. i had my new dvd/cd drive sent the very next day.

I agree with you they have poor customer service. They don't have to be rude. Your medical problem is personal and it has not to do with the computer problem. You can email the company of the rude agent you had talk to, and tell them what he had said to you. His manner is irritating and that is a big no no when it comes to quality of their service they may give to their customer.

They could probably associate the person you talked to with the phone number you called with. They should keep some sort of call logs, as well as I think some places even record their calls for what they like to call "quality assurance" but you would know that as most places that do that are required to tell you that the phonecall will be recorded.

Most of these services record conversations for training purposes. I would check into and call the company and post a consumer complaint due to his disrespect. That type of behavior is uncalled for and shouldn't be tolerated.

I tried to call them today all I got was a recording and none of it was for customer complaints. I will let Staples know when I call them back Tuesday and go back up there.

Before purchasing " customer is king" and purchaing and paying " customer is fool". I have seen many places where they don't even bother to call you.

Hi Shaun, What a rude and nasty person! How about submitting your complaint towards this person so the management will be able to discipline him...They have to treat everyone properly since it's their customers....He should be friendly and accommodating! Wow! He needs to be trained!

Customer service nowadays is becoming crappier and crappier... whether it be in a first class restaurant, a department store... or even a multi million computer company... with all the money they are earning... it is a wonder why they can't even provide proper training for their employees on how to properly deal with customers... if i encounter such crappy customer service... i never go back there ever again...

i'm sorry to hear that Shaun...your right, you have all the rights to get upset because this man is really cruel..calling you disabled is not proper..thats disrespecting you already..i guess if they have a customer feedback you can report this man..plus he asked you why you emailed Staples..he should not do that instead just asked you what you want for their service and say sorry for the inconvenience...

You are very right he was rude. They called me unknown name and number which was strange and then he starts in on telling me everything about that they can send a dvd drive and all but they can't send a repair man. Then he says I don't know how you will fix it since you are disabled. All because I couldn't change the tower I am using now with the one I bought. Besides the man at Staples hooked it up the day before and told them 3 times the day before what was going on.

I was actually thinking of starting up my own tech or otherwise support line. Most people I deal with when it comes to phones, internet, or any kind of thing that i'm having trouble with usually either aren't very helpful or are quite rude. Ironically, i'm having a similar problem to you. My dvd drive on my HP computer has been stuck for some time too. Maybe it's a hardware program that the designers of the HP computer may have overlooked. I'm not really sure. I haven't really tried fixing it myself or calling anyone but if you find someone that finds the solution to the problem other then "we'll send you a new dvd drive", please let me know! You could possibly try to unistall the dvd drive hardware & then reinstall it with the "add hardware" feature. Maybe you got a power outage & afterwards it had screwed up some internal components in which case the option may very well be to get a new dvd drive, or it could possibly just need a reinstall completely on to your computer. But uuuhh anyways. Enough about that, good luck finding the solution. Sorry to hear you had such a hard time!

Call HP directly. I have had the best luck ever with HP suppport. Mine just expired - I had a three year warrenty and they replaced my DVD writter twice - just sent it to me and walked me through how to remove/replace. They replaced my keyboard - just sent me new one. ANd several times I had other hard drive problems that they walked me through to fix. Call the 800 number - tell them your delima and they'll help you. Those at the stores, could care less about you - they are doing warrenty work and not making any money so they won't give you very good "support". When I first got my other HP - I had a DVD writer problem. I took it to CompUSA and they had it for a month! I kept calling and calling and always an excuse as to why it wasn't fixed. Then they said it needed new RAM, and couple other things...I finally called and compained to HP and they made CompUSA fix it... Got it home and they replaced several things, but NOT the DVD writer that was the problem I took it in for in the first place! I called HP and they sent me one and walked me through installation. Call HP!

Yeah I need to tell them about the man from HP that was rude to me when he called. He says they are sending me a new dvd drive for the one that is stuck in my computer. As long as he sends it alright. i can get someone from Staples to put it in for me. At the same time The man from Hp saying that he didn't know how I was going to do it since I am disabled was just very rude

Maybe they don't want to change anything you bought as that would mean less profit for them. If you but something that doesn't work in that time frame they should change it. Do you have a guarantee on your purchase ? A month or even three months, when you buy a high tech item like a computer and it doesn't work the response should be immediate. I don't understand their response to your complaint. If it isn't working, they should change it.

They are sending me a new dvd disk the one thAt came with the computer I bought started sticking. The man that called that I spoke to was rude though and said that I didn't have the right insuranse for a repirman to come out. I didn't know untill I bought the computer. I did get a 2 year gurantee as soon as I go back up to staples I will ask them what all it covers.I agree they should change it. I bought it on May 28. It has been less then a month since I bought this computer tower,

It was none of his effing buiness, and he had no right to question you. I woudln't hae even answered. I would have jut told him that his question crossed a line, and also that I was recording the conversation (even if I was not) and ould send it to a manager any time.

I feel your pain. I bought an HP laptop a few years ago and after about 6 months it had a MAJOR breakdown and needed a new motherboard. That is the main circuit board in the computer. The cost to repair it was $750+. I went on line and found that there were A LOT of people that had the same problem. I contacted back HP and asked them to make this right. He pretty much told me I was Scr$%#d. Very nice. I wont ever buy an HP again.
