My poor car

Yesterday, on the way home from the bank, we had an accident when some 17 year old pulled out in front of us. We were all ok, my car not so much.
The other party tried to claim my son was speeding to which the cop told them he didn't care how fast we were going, he failed to yield the right of way. Turned out the kid didn't even have a drivers license and was driving his uncle's vehicle. With no proof of insurance on him.
My son, who is still on his learners permit, was upset when it happened. He thought he did something wrong, but the policeman was really nice to him and made sure Kristoffer understood he had done nothing wrong.
Now I'm waiting for the insurance to do its thing. I really need my car!

Oh yes, we are fine and I am very grateful for that. At this point we can't even look under the hood so there is no telling what's what yet.

Gee that really sucks. Glad you guys are ok.I can imagine how your son felt, poor kid. Perhaps while you are waiting for the settlement you can get the other company to pay for a rental car. I had an accident once, and the other company had to pay for a rental car for me, especially considering the circumstances involving the accident. Well I wish you good luck with your car.

My insurance told me I could rent a car. I'm going to check on it Monday.
My son said he's going to be more cautious of idiots and he understands what I mean when I say "It isn't my driving that worries me, it's the other guy's."
