have you tried to solve a rubix cube?

When i was bored during my summer vacation, i bought a rubix cube and tried to solve it. It was very hard at first. I tried to solve the first layer for about an hour and the second layer for about 3days. I was really bored those times that i patiently solved it for about a week. how about you? have you tried solving a rubix cube? how long did you spent to solve it?
