We seem to hear so many negative things about genetic research and I found this one and don't thing anyone can find a problem with it.
It seems that british doctors have genetically engineered some embryos to reduce this child's chance of getting an inherited cancer. The baby would have an 85% chance of inheriting this cancer
I guess in this case a ounce of prevention is way more then a pound of cure.
So can anyone else help build arguments for genetic engineering? Any other thoughts?

As I am typing this I am watching a show on national geographic about genitic engineering, which is what prompted me to search mylot for a discussion about it. It seems that without genetic engineering we already have some "super" humans. Such as the Ice Man that can endure cold temperatures and has the ability to heat himself up by mental. There is the blind painter born with no eyes and paints masterpieces. There is the woman that can literally see and taste music as it is being played. These are the genetics that can be used as tools for the future generation of "super" humans.
I personally have not against stem cell research or genetic engineering - to me this is human evolution - we have evolved enough to find a way to change certain things about us. I see it as a positive.
