Does anyone out there find themselves doing as I often do? Before I respond to a discussion or read responses to mine, I click on the writer's name and have a look at their profile. No matter what it says, I don't change my mind about reading or responding, so I don't know why I'm snoopy this way. Maybe it's sort of like the game we play while people-watching. Or maybe it's sort of a don't-talk-to-strangers thing? Sometimes it makes me feel as if I'm peeking where I shoudn't, but that would mean the person is not a mylotter in the first place. It doesn't matter if there's no photo; I like to see the huge range of ages and hometowns. I don't even have a photo icon, because I don't know how to post one :(.

I must be a dinosaur, fifi. I have no idea how to upload a photo. When school starts in late August, I plan to have one of my students show me how. The kids can do much more with computers than any adult I know!
Good luck with your book tour!

I don't usually check out the profiles when I reply to a post or discussion. I just read the discussion then I decide if I have anything to say or if I really really like the topic. I usually check out the profile if I have like replied to a post of the same user for like many many times and if someone is inviting me to be a friend. But that's just about it. ~

Your idea seems better than mine. I use too much time online, so maybe I'll sneak a peek at only a few here and there, if I can rein in my curiosity.

for me, i am not picky or choosy inoder to have response for anothers discussion. what i only do is i read the topic and the discussion and if i feels that it is interesting to response for... i give my response... i don't mind his profile... because for me, being a member of this community means you're one of them... hahaha... that is why i never tend to check first the profile before replying...

I suppose the beauty of Mylot is that you can be as secretive or as open as you want to be or feel comfortable being. I don't have my picture as my Avatar nor do I have a picture on here of me. But, anyone willing to look at my blog can easily see what I look like or what I am about. My profile here isn't all that extensive. But, if you got to know me through my blog as others have done, then you may learn a little more about me.
Nothing wrong with looking at the profiles. That is what they are here for. Some may be open and others closed. That is just an individual preference. I love to find out what age group a person falls in if they have my same interests. It has been interesting to note that most of the people that share my interests are from surrounding states. And some are around my age and lots are younger.
