Hi,everyone,my friend!
I like thinking, and can always get odd questions in my mind, just now i come across one:suppose i can live to 80,and what can i do then?Like now?Everyday sitting in front of the computer chatting with friends and posting discussion in mylot?Maybe then my eye is invisible,so i listen to music, but if my ear is deaf then, what can i do?
I hope the technic will be greatly improved so that an old man can also use a computer to do proper things.haha...
So can we?Give your imagine:)

There are already many old people who enjoy using a computer. Age really has nothing to do with it. They can still post and chat and join in discussions. If their eyesight is bad they can wear reading glasses, and if they are going deaf they can wear a hearing aid.
I think I will still use a computer when I am 80.

I can tell you that having recently been engaged to try to teach a guy of 84 with their first computer that they can use it after a fashion - but not to the full. So he is able to use email, but not Word (yet) only notepad. He can search a little and find pictures, but not print them full page etc etc.
Of course for a generation used to computers - they will be able to continue to use them. The question then becomes nonsense. As to if there will be future developments we cannot handle when we are eighty, I doubt this. fact is all developments are aimed to make them easier to use and there may be some real breakthroughs there - so that we can use them when we are a hundred.
I hope I have better things to do by then though!

I have a feeling that if I manage to live to 80 this computer will not be a major part of my life. Quite honestly if it wasn't for my kids homeschooling and my working on the computer it would be about as useful as the TV. The TV that only comes home when my husband comes home from work at night cause I don't use it.
While I have it and while I use it I will enjoy it, but once I don't need it, it will not be on very much. I can remember almost every major advance of the TV and I'm still not that impressed but I'm sure by time I'm 80 this computer will be much much different.

Hi my friend,
I sure hope I can use a computer at 80, that is if I'm still around. lol
I hope I'll be able to buy a bigger screen so I can see it and a large button keyboard. I don't think they have those but the older people, I'm sure, could sure use them.
Have a great day!
Char

We can if we can. ahahahhaha.
With glaring lights from the monitor, could you still see?
The keyboards, are your fingers not shaky yet?
How many words per minute can you type?
Anyways, you can if you BELIEVE you can.
When all else fails, you can always give up with an open heart. :-p

Hi ifglan,
It is not the matter of ages i suppose,it all depends upon the interest we are having and the willingness to do something of our selves without depending upon others. Some depending upon the visibility we are having.May be in future we may get only touch screen laptops or computer where there is no need of typing so much.Because of it would be easy for us to do the work easily and also for me it is very far to imagine about it.
Have a nice day..

Well if I am lucky enough to still be alive at eighty then I hope so! I have always said that when the kids are grown and I have all the time to myself I shall be on the computer all day and I am also going to start playing console games too I will not be bored then. @amitpuri (457)

Yep for sure we can use it for everything even in the old ages but that will depend on our condition of visibility and ability to sit here in front of the computer and i think we will be addicted too much that we will able to make it even the 80 but we need to maintain our proper health and eyes at the same time to enjoy sitting here in front of the computer.Hope we will able to do that and hope the same for to you my friend:)

My grandma is 83 and she loves her pc! She is on it 24 hours a day! She does not sleep much! The pc has given her some thing to do rather then just sit and watch tv.

hi ifglan. first of all i noticed that you are laughing now. that's good. keep it up.well about your discussion, well i don't see myself not using the computer even if i'm 80. the question though is will there still be computers 40-50 years from. maybe computer will just be a thing in the past. the next generation will have all the technology and information they need with just a touch of button. well let's just hope we can still cope up with the fast paced technology advances we are having right now as well as in the future. well maybe the more important is we live up to 80 or more. lol. have a good day ifglan. keep on smiling.

Hey,ifglan. Why can't we use computer when we are 80 or even older. We can't live without computer now,I think. We chat,go shopping, make friends, read news and even find our lover with it.I can't imagine how it will be like if I live without my computer.
