I have several fish tanks in my house. I even have one that is built into my wall and has about 8 fish in it. I need to get more for it, but they are very expensive to buy and so I have to save up for more. I have to buy them fully grown or bigger or the ones in my tank now, will just eat the small ones. So to buy them bigger, they cost about $40 a piece so that is why I need to save money to buy more.
Here is a picture of the big tank in the wall. Do you like fish or have a tank? Do you sit and watch them? I love to sit and watch them because I find it so relaxing and such a stress releaser.

I had goldfish when i was little. I liked having the fish but didn't like the cleaning out their fish tank part!
I don't have any fish now because I think with the kids I have enough to look over & hubby would want to get a dog before we got a pet, lol.
I do agree they are relaxing to watch, I love going to places that have the huge ones and watching the tropical fish swim around.

Some of the fish we have are pretty big. Here is a closer look at some of them.

If you have several fish tanks then why not set up one (or more) for growing them before you put them in the larger tank. The smaller ones will not cost as much and you will have the pleasure of watching them grow. Just make sure to rearrange the tank right before you add the new ones and also you should have fed to established ones. After the new ones are in the tank, make sure to turn off the lights completely, this will put the fish on more equal terms as it will be "new" to all of them.

I have been raising fish for over 55 years and many of those years have been with fish breeding. You need to know about the fish that you wish to breed as some like cichlids, will protect the eggs and babies. Others like the splash tetra will lay their eggs out of water and come back every few minutes to splash water on th4em so that they do not dry out and also to keep them away from other fishes mouth. There are the livebearing fish that will g9ive birth to living young like the guppies, platties, swordtails and mollies. But most fish will scatter their eggs and then go back and eat them if they can. For those you will need to protect the eggs from the adult fish with a few tricks such as having plenty of fine leaved plants for the eggs to be layed on and then removing the eggs or make it impossible for the parents to get to the eggs by putting a couple layers of marbles on the bottom of the tank with only an inch or two of water for the parents to spawn in. Most of the eggs will go between the marbles and be save from the parents and other fish.

Wow, didn't know that it is better to turn off the lights when getting new fish. Thanks for this information. Also the little ones, how do you raise them without them getting eaten? Have you raised any yourself? I have one fish in my tank that lays eggs, I think, they look like little white stones. Is that fish eggs? And how do they hatch? They just get eaten by all of the fish. Have you done this before?

I am having only one fish tank but there are many fishes in it (like 4 gold fish,2 angels,4 sharks (small) etc) i don't remember the count but i love watching them when i am bored or dipressed.
Research says that watching fishes in a fish tank reduces Blood Pressure and is also a good sleep inducer.

I think you are right about it being a stress releaser since it works that way for me. My picture didn't post so I have done another one and it worked. I am new at this picture thing so I think I have finally figured it out.

As I can see, the picture didn't work and now that I know how to do it better, here is a picture of my tank.
