first off, iran claims that it's nuclear experiments aren't military, but energetic. true? not true? we can't know, but that's what they declare. second, if some countries can have and produce and research on nuclear weapons, what gives these nations the right to deny the right to these experiments to other countries? if it were a decision of an impartial court or commission, it would be more understandable, but since the veto seems to come from one of the most armed countries in the world, it seems a bit unfair.

Have you ever listened to any of the Iranian rhetoric as to what they would do with real power? Do you want to see a nuclear war? Then let Iran build nuclear weapons. As to peaceful use of nuclear power in Iran, think about it. Iran has one of the world's largest sources of crude oil with which to generate power. Why would they want or need nuclear energy to meet their energy needs? It is an obvious lie that Iran is building nuclear electric power plants. They don't need them.

if we have nuclear bombs, why shouldn't anyone else? or do you think it's up to us to choose who can and who can't? this kind of policy has already created enough damage. i'm not pro iran having the bomb. and i do think it would be a risky affair. but let's face it, it's not up to one country to decide if it's right or wrong for them to do what they want. have you ever heard of sovreinty? what would you think if iran came up telling you what to do with your life? again, i'm not in favor of iran's regime. but you can't even control all those who scare you.

"You can't just go invading anyone who doesn't agree with your views." Name one country the USA has invaded because we disagree with their views. Iraq? Saddam was in violation of several agreements that ended Iraq war I. That was the war where Saddam invaded unprovoked a fellow Muslim country. Saddam killed or had killed tens of thousands of his fellow Muslims. Saddam was still having his countrymen murdered and tortured at the time of the invasion. The USA did not invade Iraq merely because we disagree with their views. Are you responding seriously or just trying to jerk my chain? If you are responding seriously, try learning much more about history.

The leaders of Iran have repeatedly called for the total destruction of Israel. Some of the leaders of Iran believe in the return of the 12th Imman when earth is visited by the apocalypse. Does any informed sane reasonable person think Iran should have nuclear weapons? People advocating the apocalypse for some superstitious religious hocus pocus reason are not worthy of entrustment of a nuclear arsenal. The people currently in possession of nuclear weapons have not used them since 1945 and then that was in an already ongoing war. By not using their nuclear weapons, the current nuclear powers have shown they are using their power to keep the peace. Iran openly states they want to destroy Israel as soon as they can. Iran is eager to revisit the exploding of nuclear weapons on enemy targets. This is something no else in the world wants. Yes, Iran should listen to those who say to not go nuclear.

The USA is quite a bit different. As to Cuba, the USA could have conqurered Cuba anytime it wanted to do so. Remember the Bay of Pigs fiasco? That failed only because President Kennedy called it off, by denying air cover for the operation, not because Cuban defenses could not have been overcome. The USA could take Cuba today, easily, but that is just not the way we do things.

Purity to criticize? That's not what is required to take the positions put forth by the USA. No one whatsoever pays any attention to those the most pure in the arena of international politics, economics, diplomacy, and warfare. Perhaps, you are confusing how people make decisions in their personal lives with how nations conduct themselves?

and i don't think the usa is much different. iran wants the distruction of israel, true... but the us would gladly have absorbed cuba when they had the opprtunity to. and they have a whole list of countries they'd be happy to see disappear from the map. where's the difference? the difference is in the countries hated. not in the method. i'd be more than happy to sustain criticism to iran from a country that doesn't have the same defects as iran does. want to talk about fundamentalism?? true, iran is loaded of it. but the us??? god keeps popping out all over, not only privately, but in institutional speeches too. you have hoard of fanatics preaching the gospel door to door, or influencing vote or politics. the only difference is that iran are muslims and americans are mostly christians. the point isn't wether or not iran is bad. the point is america is lacking the purity to criticize

Many people have pilots licenses, should we give anyone who wants one, one? What if a blind person wants one, should they get one because everyone else has one?
