This year was supposed to be a good year for racing for him. The season started off really strong and he soon found himself 2nd in points at the local track and in sight of a top 20 in regional points. But that's when everything started going wrong... First he had motor problems and had to take the motor out to have it rebuilt. It happened during a race of course and gave him a bad finish. He took the old car the next week since his motor wasn't done, a bar fell out during the race and took out the driveshaft which pulled the transmission half out...another bad finish. He got the motor back in his car in time to race two nights last weekend...the first night a fuel line came off and it caught fire, the second night his oil pump went a few laps after another car intentional spun him out (I know the two aren't related, it just add to the bad luck). So last night our track was off so he had a chance to go to another track he used to dominate at...he started off the fasted car on the track...until someone wrecked in front of him and the guy behind him shoved him right into it all...no the whole side of the car (body wise) is destroyed and the leaf spring mount is bent and torn. Plus the whole car is shoved more to the driver's side than it should be so there's probably more damage that we couldn't see in the dark last night. Now he sits barely in 4th place in points with no shot at a track championship...unless he wins every race for the rest of the year and the current leader completely quits. He's barely even top 40 in regional points. The good news is that he found an extra 3rd driver to share a ride in the new car his dad and son bought...so now we get to try to keep a third car together ...at least we're getting paid for thiat one! And for all of you that got worked up about Jr's 2 years without a win...try going 7 years! LOL

My husband used to race at our local track here. I worked there for years as head scorekeeper because I couldn't sit there and do nothing but watch him and get all nervous. hahaha He had a few hard knocks too just like everyone at one time or another but at least he had a good sponsor to help with the expense. It can get costly but they have a blast. I hope he can get back out there and get back up on top.
