I too am dangerously close to forclosure. My mortgage tripled and I am struggling to keep up. What creative ways have you used to avoid forclosure?

My mortgage was sold and the new investors raised my rate 3x the original rate. I have spoken to them and they are very nasty and uncooperative with me. I do not have any insurance, can't afford it raising three children alone and two have special needs. The local government I haven't tried yet, I'll check them out. Thanks for your suggestions and concern. No matter how it goes, know that you have made me feel better by caring.

I did not see this discussion 8 months ago as was having a break from Mylot then. I am saddened to hear of your plight but reading that things are slightly better now is good to know. I will be thinking of you and hope you manage to turn things around. I thank my lucky stars that in this time of recession my children are about to enter the job market rather than being born and making me leave it.

Yes mortgage companies are very nasty. But right now you would think that they would be ready to make deals and get what they can get. With forclosures as high as they are it is a shame. I will tell you even though We are military we do not get paid what people think. I do everything I can to bring in extra. I work from home for an employer, I do things like mylot and clean peoples houses. I am also looking to take an outside job. Things are ugly now but this is the time to invest. Even if it is $5 a paycheck find something to invest in. We will not always be in a recession. And when the recession is over you will see your money really grow.

I admire your tenaciousness, panzerswifey, you are a woman after my own heart. I too am military connected; I took and early retirement from the army in 1995 so I have felt your pain. My daughter and I have discussed investing in serveral companies and I think we will be doing it. I also plan to grow my business as much as possible right now to try to help others who have lost income due to this sinking economy. Helping people is the best part of my business, but I suspect you already know that Ms. Avon. Thank you so much for your encouragement and lovely suggestion, I do so appreciate it. All is looking better for us but the road to total recovery looks to be about five plus years. The pressure is off and I can see light at the end of the tunnel.
