Walking in the campus on weekends

So, last sunday, I decided to grab the opportunity to take a walk since I have not been physically active for the past few weeks.
UP Campus is like just 15 minutes away from my place by jeepney. I started walking from our place using stud farm route. When I finally reached the university avenue, I started observing the place.
It was as if a perfect location where you can unwind and just go with the flow. I have observed young families walking and biking, a group of "emo" kids playing with their skateboards, bikers with their toys, frisbee and soccer players and football rugby fanatics. I have also observed older couples walking their hearts out.
Anyways, one of the perks of walking in the campus on a fine weekend is probably bumping into some popular people, well, I often would see Tony Mabeza with his chow-chow. Last sunday, I saw Mong of Chicosci/Sandwich with his skateboard buddies. Harhar he is such a cutie skaterboi.
Well, I had 2 rounds of walking around the academic oval, and I am planning to increase that next weekend. :)
Have you tried going there in the weekend? Lately, they have done really much better with the traffic flow. :)

oooh... i love walking around campus!
on sundays, they have a carless oval.. but it's packed with people and even vendors.. for mem, the best time to walk around is on early mornings or evenings during weekdays.. there aren't too much and too people around.. plus, it's cooler during those times..

Yes, I have to agree with you 100%. The problem with walking on evenings is that I usually get paranoid.
.
I just love the whole idea that it is carless on sundays because I can run around with my nephew.

i agree. the beauty of having a carless oval on sundays is that it's perfect for families, especially for those with kids. and that's why a whole lot of them do go on sundays.
on walking at night, it's really quite safe around the acad oval at night. there's a curfew at 10pm and the SSB people also patrol the area at night. besides, if you walk or jog during early evenings, there are still quite a few people around so it isn't that scary. at the same time, there's not too much people either. but then it all boils down to you and your personal preferences. if you want to be with lots of people of want some privacy in your campus stroll, it's up to you. nevertheless it's still great walking around on campus. :)

I really love walking around campus because no matter how stressful life is I always feel calm when I see those big trees covering the sidewalks and seeing a lot of nature. By the way Sir Tony Mabesa's dog is named Shimra. Sundays are great when you want to jog or walk because it's carless oval every Sunday on UP.

Here in UP Baguio all we do is walk, it's tiring sometimes because it's really a slight hike but it's fun to walk here, fresh air (although polluted) and with the climate not being so hot like there in Diliman. But the problem here is that we don't see much of what you see there in Diliman, I haven't visited Diliman yet since my UPCat days, wow come to think of it it was almost 4 years ago!

if there's one thing i miss most in UP Diliman is the academic oval and being able to jog in the campus. I usually jog in the evening because i cannot get up early in the morning to jog. If I am pissed off or I just want to think, I walk around the academic oval like two to three times to clear my head and just breathe in the fresh air. It is also safe. I do not have to worry about bad guys lurking in the dark corners. There are couples lurking in the dark corners but that's another story =)
