Had me a bowel of cereal this morning with some fresh picked strawberries on it. these were picked this morning. the wife and I went out back and decided it was time to eat them. We only found a few that had been munched on by the small critters that visit us. I have to start letting Buster out back more so he will scare them off. I am going to make some Strawberry-Banana Jello and add sliced ones to it maybe later tonight. Have you had your fill of homegrown strawberries yet? Do you use the strawberries in any particular way? Are yours spreading like crazy?

I love homegrown strawberries. They are so much sweeter than the commercially grown one. I do not have any growing but plan to start a patch of strawberries next year. I love strawberry/Banana jello. I think your strawberries are just the ticket to make it awesome. I love strawberries and a plain old homemade biscuit. I would never get tired of my own strawberries.

As I am out back watering or weeding my garden I drop by and pick a few to munch on before going back inside.

My strawberries have spread nicely all infront of one of the caravans. It's the one my son and his friend have taken over as his den so it's very rare that there's every a strawberry that survives long enough for me to find it!
However, he's away at his friend's just now and I found about 6 or 7 earlier. Me and younger son scoffed them on the spot and they were delicious

The only thing I have in my garden is tomatoes
and green peppers.
I sure do love strawberries just like I love tomatoes.
I just bought some strawberries at the store yesterday and allready ate most of them. I like them with shortcake.

I did not get any strawberries this year! We didn’t plant any this year and we missed the picking. I should plant some next year. We love strawberries at my house Usually every year we get out there and pick them at the local place- it was so rainy and we were too busy this year to get them.
I hope you enjoyed your berries!

Fertilizer right when they start flowering and again a few weeks later. Organic type preferably. If not, then Mircle Grow is the best for them. You can spray it right on the plants and they will absorb it thru their leaves and roots.

Those strawberries sure look good and yummy! I only got a couple of strawberries off my plant this year and it doesn't seem to be spreading any. Which isn't that big of a deal as we are going to do things a bit differently next year.

No strawberries in my yard. I do have two bell peppers and loads of green bean flowers. If they all produce green beans I will need more jars to pickle them. heehee. I have two cucumber plants that have not produced anything yet. My plants where not put in the ground until the second week of June they have some catching up to do.

i also had me a bowl not bowel of cereal this morning heh heh.
I had Post's blueberry morning cereal. it was really yummy with little blueberries inside. of course they are dessicated. so not fresh like your yummy strawberries. the thing about strawberries is that they need to be eaten fast. otherwise they spoilt really quickly! when i buy them from the supermarket i make sure there are many people to help me eat up that punnet. otherwise, what a waste!

Sounds like a bumper crop! I've had a poor crop this year and it was early but I expected that as it's year one, and the plants were rather spindly. What I did have were gorgeous though and the plants have several good runners. Next year I'll plant a later variety in hanging pots, as my friend has done. Hers are just ripening now and they made a great display when they flowered!
I love Strawberries with a bowl of my friends home made lemon meringue Ice cream. I could never have my fill of home grown. The season isn't long enough for the few plants I've space for, and bought Strawberries just don't taste the same.
Have you tried them sliced with a sprinkling of black pepper on? It really brings out the flavour.
I'd be careful about letting Buster out, I once had a dog who ate the berries as soon as they ripened. Even putting netting over didn't deter him, he loved fruit of any kind.
Willow doesn't like Strawberries, but I'm glad I don't have an apple tree. She has been known to raid the fruit bowl so I no longer keep apples or grapes in them.
Kia, the cat, will also steal fruit from the bowl and vegetables if given a chance. She's the only cat I've ever known that eats lettuce! I made sure she didn't get near 'my' strawberries!

Saviour-V teleports in...
Hope you didn't eat too much. Or did you accidentally add an "e" to the word "bowl"?
Saviour-V grins slightly...
Still, I haven't had strawberries in quite a long while. Down here in Malaysia, there's a place called Strawberry Park, in the highlands resort known as Cameron Highlands. It's in the county of Perak, by the way.
Now, I've not been there in a very long time - last I was there was when I was a young 'un, if you catch my drift. My first younger brother went there on his honeymoon last year, but he forgot to bring home some strawberries.
Sure would be nice to have a bowl of strawberries right now. With a little bit of honey to sweeten them up a little - our strawberries seem to be missing sweetness. Or perhaps all strawberries are like that, I guess.
If I do manage to get to the US of A someday, I might consider paying you a visit. Maybe we could use your kind of strawberries, Grandpa Bob.
Saviour-V salutes Grandpa Bob, and teleports out...

I love Strawberries and I am of my Food so I need something really yummy and this certainly sounds very yummy
