I have black hair currently. I am naturally a brunette. My mom convinced me to dye my hair black a few years ago because she thought it would look really good on me and it did. Since then, I have had black hair. It's been a long time since I have tried anything new with my hair. I want to do something new with it, like dye my hair or find a new hair style. I was thinking of dying my hair blonde but not bleach blonde, a nice, suttle blonde colour. I dont know if blonde will look good on me though. I would like to know if there is a website anywhere that I could go to and upload a picture and see what different hair colours would look on me. I was also thinking of dying my hair a brownish-red. I really have been thinking about dying my hair for a long time. I know its really hard to dye your hair from red after you have dyed it black, so how would that work? How would I dye my own hair red from black? Or is my best bet getting it professionally done?

That's cool. I've dyed my hair a crazy color once. And I hated it right after I did it. So I'd say go for it. Pick something that you haven't done before. There are websites that allow you to upload a picture of yourself, however I don't know the addresses. If you want to have a more professional look then your best bet is to get it professionally done.

You're definitely better off going to a professional. I've heard a few stories of women going from black to blond and winding up with purple. Black to red might give a more burgundy effect. I can't say for sure but I would think you'll need to strip out all the black before you can really get a drastic change and it's not a great idea to try that at home.

I think if you maybe go back to a dark brunette but just highlight a streak in the front perhaps, sometimes black can become too harsh but a dark brunette is closer to your natural colour but a few streaks or just one highlighted blonde streak can soften.
