Early Boy

I love fresh tomatoes. We have a cherry tomato plant in a pot that we are hoping produces a bunch of the delectable fruits. They are great on salads. I prefer to have them fresh off the vine.

This brings back so many memories. When I was little I went on some weekends to my aunt and uncle's house and they had a garden in back and I would go out there and pick me some tomatoes and eat and eat them, I would get the small ones and sometimes the larger ones too. They didn't have the really big ones. I like my fresh tomatoes with salt and sometimes a little black pepper and just eat them like that or sliced and eaten on a sandwich or hamburger. It is so strange how they have a completely different taste about them when they are home grown. yummy

I love freshy picked tomatoes. I just wish I could go out and pick one but mine are still not red enough. I can eat tomatoes all day long I like them cut up with salt and some pepper on them. I also like them on buggers and in salads.

I haven't grown any tomatoes lately...the dogs decided that the plants made good chew toys. But when I was growing them, it would usually be the big beefsteak tomatoes, and I would take and slice them up, slap them on a plate, add a dash of salt and eat them that way. Sometimes they didn't even make it into the house...I would grab the salt shaker on the way out the door, clean the tomato off with the garden hose and then just chow down.

We have a bunch of tomato plants too. They are growing but are still green. Can't wait till we can eat the first one. I love tomatoes in salads or as a snack. So does my oldest son. He loves raw vegetables and especially tomatoes. Have a nice day

Oh yum! My grandparents live in Bixby, Oklahoma. That is about three hours from where my parents and I live. So during the summer when we come down, my grandma always takes us to this stand at the corner of one of the nearby streets. Everything at that stand has been picked either that day or the day prior. We always stock up on tomatoes among other things. There is nothing like a 'Bixby tomato'. I mean I've been to our nearby Farmer's Market, and still the tomatoes are not as good as the ones in Bixby. Sometimes they are so succulent we don't even think about salting them. But sometimes just a little salt makes them that much better.

Wow, looks so fresh and delicious Grandpa B... My tomatoes are not yet ready! But, they are just a small one..LOL! I love eating it with salt and a little soy sauce! LOL! When I was younger, I always eat it with rice..LOL!

I like them on BLT's or just sliced with a bit of sugar on them. Actually I really like them almost anyway...chopped up and put in with scrambled eggs is another way they are good!

I usually eat my tomatoes in a sandwich or I will have cherry ones in a salad. I would love to be able to grow my own. Have been working hard to create a graden recently so who knows next year I may. Your tomato looks delicious, I hope you enjoy. Ellie :D

I will when they grow! I have a couple of early girl plants that have really grown this past week and my mom is looking forward to the tomatoes! I don't like them, myself, but I do love salsa for some reason.

I love tomatoes in omeletes for breakfast, sandwiches and almost any other way you can use them. We also love fried green tomatoes.

I slice them and put some salt over and eat.
