So far he hasn't lived up to his own rhetoric. He says he's about change, but he has emerged as just another lying politician. He is a great speaker when he's reading from a teleprompter, but trips over his words and can't make a coherent statement when asked direct questions. He only logged 145 days of actual work as a senator and never made a tough decision at the state level in Illinois. In other words, he is nothing more than a robot with a great speech delivery chip.. nothing more at all.

Why do you turn to the "but isn't he better than McCain" defense? Or are you really not supporting Obama, just voting against McCain? I find it pretty interesting that his staunch supporters are rarely able to defend him on his own merits.

that's completely true.. we don't really know this guy.. we just know that whatever he promises to do ( and alot did before him ) are convinient with what we want.. and we put hope on him... he deserves a chance.. some times people fear what they don't know.. so let us know this guy since we already know the opposite!!

Yes, I would love too. But, I really don't know him that well. Besides no one really knows anyone too well these days. He is honest in his words, so I would believe him..

Actually he has not been honest in his words. He vowed with McCain to accept public financing. Now McCain has accepted public financing and Obama has broken his promise. I'd hardly call that honest. There are other debatable lies he's told, but that is the lie that is as clear as night and day.

Hello Saierchock, It would seem that you definitely have your mind made up. Though, I'm curious -- why are you so efforting yourself when you are not from the USA?

I'm also curious.. I guess I'm just too excited about it since I've been watching too much CNN It's kinda interesting, I just keep on watching news, and try on responding to it and express the way I feel about things in the world, global warming, the wars, the economical situation around the world.. but the most news that cnn talks about was the elections.. I was watching it like 5 times a day.. and the same news repeats over and over again.. so it became like an addiction.. why do i back obama.. well, he's young, he's charismatic, he's backed by the most, my friends like him, and even though he hesitates while talking or answering something.. when he gets to speak, and get to the topic.. he knows how to make you believe in it.. but.. leave all that aside and read this!! we all watch american idol, american gladiator, so you think you can dance, we feel connected to some of the contestants, and we support them subconciously! I believe this is my case with obama, because the media sort of made the american elections sound like a game or competition that the whole world is interested in watching! some back this some back that.. some say the back this, some say they back that.. and after all, it's not up to us to choose, it's up to the eletorial game! and once the game is over the viewers forget about it, and try to move on with teir lives, and fill their time with something different than what they had before.. I have to say that the media played a huge part in " pimping" obama! and I'm a living proof to that! besides, who knows! america is the land of the free! I might become american before you even know it! then all of this would really matter to me! i hope you got an answer to your question!

I can't, because I am not an American. I got an -mail from someone last night about how upset she was that Obama wants school children to learn Spanish as well as English. I oculdn't understand why she was so upset. In Canada we learn French as well as English. Anoher language is a wonderful thing. I hate the propaganda that is going around.

I'm all for leaning other languages, the more the better. What I'm against is the government forcing us to learn another language of their choice. We don't force foreigners to learn English when they move here, why should we have to learn their language? And I think a president has more important decisions to make rather than what languages we speak.

it's well understood that USA needs a second language!! the more languages people know the better they are in understanding each other! great move that I support!! though I need some help with spanish :PP

I plan to vote for him, although I'm not too pleased about some things he's done lately that seem to be reversals of previous statements. But, helping to elect anyone who even remotely resembles Bush is out of the question. McCain has promised to continue Bush's policies and Hillary - well, she's just Bush in drag. Voting for Nader or Barr is just throwing a vote down the drain (unless Republicans plan to vote for then - then I'd say they're helping Obama by removing votes from McCain). But, that's where I am now - Obama is a breath of fresh air in a manure-filled political arena.

Yes, I would vote for him because he is honest and also because I am a supporter of abortion. It is our right as women to chose what we do with our bodies. I can not wait till the election!
