Chloe was funny today!

Chloe is my younger cat - age 8. We've had to bring her into the house because the basement is infested with fleas (Mom didn't want the cats in the house - her house, her choice). Today, the cleaning person was coming and she claims to be allergic, so I kept Chloe in the room with me while the older cat, Shady, stayed outside on the porch where she likes it. Well, I'm sitting here answering emails and doing myLot responses and I feel a paw on the back of my arm. Chloe has moved herself on the bed so she could reach out and touch me. I turn to look at her and her purring volume increases dramatically, but the touching stops. I turn back to my keying and I feel a paw again. When I turn to look, there she is looking at me with her big round eyes purring like crazy. I pet her, she rolls over on her back, so I scratch her big fat belly. I start to key again, Chloe gets up and lays in the other direction for a while listening to Barbara working outside the door with the vacuum, etc. Then I suddenly feel TWO paws on my arm. I stop keying for a bit and realize she's KNEADING my arm with her front feet (my ex-inlaws call it "making masa"). So, I turn to look at her and the kneading increases in speed and intensity and her purring gets even louder, but I suddenly see something else. As she's kneading with her front paws, her back paws are moving like she's peddling a bike!!! I couldn't believe it - the cat had ALL FOUR FEET moving just so she could touch me!!! I just laughed and shook my head at her like, "you are crazy!" She's something else - she really is! Oh - and I found that she had bitten a chunk out of the toilet paper in the bathroom earlier this morning. My mother thought it was a defective roll of toilet paper, but it was Chloe's signature "I'm not happy" response to whatever she was displeased with. I'm assuming because she didn't like the cat food I'd given her yesterday, she was protesting. I tossed it and gave a new flavor today. She seems happier now. So - has your cat (or even your dog) ever done anything that was funny that you hadn't seen them do before?

Heehee! That made me smile, especially the kneading bit with all fours. We call it happy paws, but I like the sound of making masa, too. My dogs were being super-dorks earlier. One sat on the other just because she could, and the other growled. I just laughed at both of them and told them to figure it out. Lately, one of our cats has been very clingy, and will sprawl out on the arm of the couch while everyone's watching TV and whoever's next to her HAS to pet her, or get the stare-of-doom, complete with backwards ears of annoyance. She likes to rest her paw on your hand so you can't leave.

The Bully!!! - I don't even know how this cat managed to fall victim to this - poor baby!! LOL
I had one cat who would climb up on me and knead my chest - with him, I called it the "luva luva shuffle". I had four cats at the time and he was the only one who did it. That's cute about your dogs! I'm going to find a photo I've seen that your dogs reminded me of and upload it with this response so you can see it. My dog loving friend has made me aware of it more than ones (we have a friendly back and forth about which is the best pet). I hope you enjoy it!

I had a cat named Mekon. Mekon would get to kneeding on me and suddenly there'd be a 3rd foot involved. He's stop and look at that foot, always the left back foot that had some how creeped up and gotten into the act too. But he'd go back to kneeding and have all 3 feet in there, tho the back one really didn't kneed, it just kind of pushed every so often.

I always thought the dog was thinking his foot was trying to steal his food. but some dogs aren't real bright

Oh, that's classic!! At least he didn't argue with it like that dog in the video who kept growling at biting at his own leg as it tried to scratch his ear!!

My cat fluffdaddy has never been a lap kitty. He enjoys closeness with humans but spent some of his early life in a semi feral state so he is alittle leary of people. What he does do though is pretty funny. He loves to sit on the arm of the big overstuffed chair and he will drape his legs down the arm of the chair so I can pet them. sometimes he will even put one leg on the lap, but that seems to be as far as he is willing to go. If you put him lap, he stays about two seconds and leaves.

FluffDaddy???? LMAO I LOVE IT!!!! What a cool name!!! Chloe's not much of a "lap cat" either, but she loves to "reach out and touch" someone. She loves attention. She'll drape herself over my shoulder if I'm sitting at my desk at home and make herself at home. But, in a lap - she's not that comfy. Shady, on the other hand, can't be kept OUT of anyone's lap - no matter how many times you say no, or put her down, she continues to try to get back up. She just HAS to be on someone, anyone, who will pet her. She's a true people cat. But, I love the visual I got from your description.

i have 2 cats and there are times when they get to jumping off the walls...certain foods that we have given them made them seem as though they had the most of energy...most times though they just lay around being lazy :D
