Tacoma-Pierce County Crimestoppers is trying to fuel your interest in helping track down what the group calls the area's "top 50 most wanted criminals."
Starting Friday, authorities are offering $250 gas cards for information leading to arrests. The free gas is in addition to the monetary reward that can reach up to $1,000 in some cases.
In my opinion this is so dangerous. It could bring out all the nuts, and have bad consequences. What do you think?

If people would keep their eyes and ears open, I think a lot of bad guys could be caught. Some are hiding right in plain sight. There was a kid who'd gone missing for years in our local area and was found only because the guy snatched another kid. If a gas card helps motivate people, I think that would be great.

That is the truth it will bring out alot of nut jobs and alot of misinformation probably just to try to get those cards. It also might help those come forth and help if they do have information. I just hope it doesn't backfire in their faces and that it works.

I think it is very dangerous too because alot of people would not know what to do to catch a criminal or what may happen to them if they do catch one. I think people could actually lose their life trying to earn a buck trying to catch one. It is too risky to try to track them down. they may not like what they find.

This is a way to get the community involved to recieve a free gas card. They know that the high gas prices are tight on everyone. They know that some people will speak out if they know something. Just for a free gas card. Then there are those that would not say anything regardless of what you offer them. This is something like and inscentive for gas. Does your town have the car dealership that is offering $2.99 for a gas up to 3 years on the new cars only. That is something that they have around here. What they are offering is something like that but it's dealing with crime that they need or want answers too. I would not be for it but that is what I think.
