If you are a regular shopper of big items or not, are you in the habit of getting guarantee or warranty for the purchases you make? If so, have you ever invoked it?

Hi snakequeen! I dont know much about guarantees, but i most definatly get a warranty on big ticket items. There was only one time that i had to use my warranty, and that was on a tv i bought last year. The audio went out on it after 2 months, and i had to return it to the store.

I don't bother with the warranty for small items. If the item just does not work from the beginning, I just take it back to the store where I purchased it and have always been refunded full purchase price. A large or expensive item is different. I will frequently even purchase an extended warranty. I did have to use the warranty on my car once when it quit on me about 250 miles from home. I just had the vehicle towed to the nearest Nissan garage, and it was repaired same day at very little expense to me.

No I haven't bought. They usually cost too much. And they don't really do us any good. I think for the most part they are a waste of money.

The difference is so small, but I'm more comfortable with a lifetime warranty than a guarantee. I guess if the guarantee is false, then I can always return the product to the store or to the company, but it's not like a warranty which spells 100% guaranteed. Am I making sense here? I'm sorry if I've confused anyone, I'm not exactly sure about the difference as well. But I'd rather buy products with a lifetime warranty. I've never returned anything yet though... because I think such products were really made to last.
