Question About Men...

I've notice through the years of being in relationships with me that when they get upset about something that they shut everyone out even people who have nothing to do with the situation that they may be in. The don't want to talk about their feelings or anything unlike a woman who normally wants to express her feelings. So, my question is, why do men have such a hard time expressing their feelings to people who care and want to be there for them?

That isn't true of all men; there are some who are emotionally open. Perhaps, try a different type of man for your next relationship-- one who is vastly different from your prior men.

I don't mean to say all men are like that, but just most that I've been with in the past. It isn't a bad thing, just makes me curious why some of the men I've been with are like that.

I am one of the emotional guys out there. If I encounter conflicts and difficulties, I usually go to my family and friends immediately. There are times really when I just need to be alone just right after an incident. I just do it to clear my mind and to be able to think rationally. I talk to other people for additional advise and for comfort as well. Then, I just deal with any misunderstandings and I even usually make the first move. I just wait until the time is right to deal with something. Just think positive and always keep a smile amidst tough instances. All will be well. Take care!

Maybe you are on to something, maybe men just like to think things through and not talk about it. I do feel that it isn't good to keep things all bottled up inside though. I'm glad that you have family and friends to go to when you need to talk and get advise, that's great. Have a good one!

yeh I know where your coming from, I don't think men are good at communication as much as women, we like to talk things out, I guess we are just made different, women are just talkers i think...

I'm not sure why men lock or shut everyone out of their lives when they are going through something. My husband is the very same way when it comes to things like that. I think they think they have to be tough and deal with everything on their own. They do not want to seem weak or sensitive when it comes to showing any kind of emotions for themselves.

I think that apart from the genetic factor we have to remember that most men were brought up in the belief that real men don't cry and that they should be strong and sort out everyone elses problems. I think that this is totally wrong but it happens! Mind you it could just be that men are awkward! xxx
