hey fellow mylotters,What do you do when you are stress or nervous..do you bite your nails, crack your knuckles, pull your hair out or do something else...Have you tried to stop it and how ...has anyone criticized your about your habit??when I get into nervous mode i start fidgeting, i just cannot stay still ..I either start tapping my foot stand up and sit down again ...this goes for a couple of minutes, start pacing form here to there for no reason, tap a pencil or pen on the table, give a broad smile when someone just passes, crack my knuckles, rock back in a chair on two legs, drum my fingers on my table, chew my fingers, the list just goes on and on ....My colleague always criticized me, call me with nicknames ..but i just can't help it ....

I am always moving my leg up and down, a constant and fast up-and-down movement of the leg, also known as "sewing machine legs". I know it's a nervous habit but many times I do it without even realizing it.

We've all been there one time or another, for me it's when I have to speak in front of the class. Actually just standing in from of the class makes me nervous. When I'm nervous my face gets itchy sometimes ( I hate that part, i think its because my pores are opening up too fast because I'm heating up from the nervousness or something). My voice wavers also so I might fail my oral assignment and I can't help but shuffle my feet or move around when I'm talking... I hate speaking in front of crowds...

Nervousness is something that rarely attacks me, but when it does, I successfully take control of it. The worst habit that I got when I get nervous and to control it is to sing songs. I do not sing them out loud, but imagine the beat and the lyrics and try to make a karaoke in my head. That way I feel relaxed. Although the max times when I get nervous is during exams and that's one time I cannot sit around singing songs..
Another bad habit is that I think a lot about the situation which is causing me nervousness, which sometimes helps me by finding a solution and sometimes worsens it by aggravating to it.
I have never been criticised by my friends or anyone yet, because all these activities are mental and nobody even knows when I'm doing it. Although I sometimes let out a small snort or an angry retort when someone disturbs me.

I hate when I'm nervous. Only once in my life that I have had sweat due to nervousness.
I don't fidget, if I get nervous in class, I would take my pencil and tap the desk a few times. Also, my leg tends to move like the comment above mine that mentions "sewing machine legs". I also mumble and studder when I feel nervous.
