Hi vanities,it is a real challenge
,don't wash your vegetables before storing keep your fresh vegetables in your refrigerator crisper bin.Always store mushroom in a paper bag, mushrooms are 90 percent water and will go slimy if stored in plastic bags. Not all vegetables need fridge potatoes and onion for example should be stored in a cool dry place, banana will go black when placed in fridge and tomatoes will be tastier if stored room temperature.
And another thing is one bad will spoil the rest
.Decayed or damaged produce will produce much higher levels of ethylene than normal. You should sort through your vegetables before storing them in your fridge.I hope this will help you..have a nice day..cheers...

Hi Vanities,..as usual i have learnt by reading the responses here.. i have seen my mom covering the vegetables in thin cotton white cloth, ( or put them in small cotton bags.. that are not so thick..) It absorbs the moisture created in fridge.. and the veggies are fresh..

I put my vegtables in my crisper drawer in my fridgerator'
and I keep my veggies fresh for as much as a week or ten days and usually I will have used them up b efore that time'
anyway. I leave lettuce in its plastic bag but other produce
I just put in unwrapped and I never have had to throw anything
out yet. good luck and Godbless.

I don't know if it really works, but one vegetable vendor told me that wrap or put veggies in plastic containers before storing it in the fridge. And actually, we fried some eggplants last night that were in the fridge for over a week now. It still taste the same although it didn't look fresher. KEEP SMILING = NEIL
