GORHAM, Maine - Mara Ranger will be a little paranoid doing laundry now. When she was removing clothes from the washing machine at her Maine farmhouse Wednesday, the clothes moved. She told WMTW-TV, "I jumped back" and saw a snake. She quickly shut the lid and called for help. ADVERTISEMENT Maine Animal Damage Control operator Richard Burton reached into the machine and pulled and pulled — all 8 feet of a reticulated python. Burton guesses the snake got into Ranger's washing machine through water pipes. The snake's future home will be York Animal Kingdom in York. Ranger is going to start looking into every corner of her washing machine. She says, "I'm going to be looking in the tub first — before and after, maybe even during, the rinse cycle." I got this off yahoo

i cannot deal with snakes and the problem is there are more stories with snakes turning up in the most unlikely places. how bad is that? i feel bad for her and i'm glad it hasn't happened to me. i'd end up having a bad dream about it.

Lol, for a moment i thought how come this happened in England and i didn't know but then i was it was York in Maine, not the city of York in England (where i used to live co-incidenally.) Well i don't think we have that worry over here, i think the most we get are grass snakes and i've never seen one myself, the only snakes i've ever seen were in a zoo or another country.

Lord I would be terrified spitless, I would and will be checking from now on I don't have any pythons to worry about(I hope) but they are alot fo other snakes around her my husband has killed 4 just around my house. Copperheads and Blue Racers. Our washing machine lines lead into the little creek/ditch(very little water). I am sure this will have woman all over looking into their washers.. although I don't think i want to com eye to eye with a snake either by checking..lol I have heard once that a kid put a cat into the washer and when the woman opened the lid to put in the clothes the cat just out and scared her into almost a heart attack.. it would me to because it is the unexpected that totally freaks us out.

Can you imagine? I can't!! I would be afraid to do laundry ever again. I am not sure I would want to be anywhere in that house! That is a big snake.

Now I'm going to be shining a FLOOD light into my washing machine every time I go to use it! I think if I would have been in that woman's shoes, my laundry and my washing machine would have been destroyed by me trying to beat the snake with a shovel while screaming my lungs out!
