we had a report some months back where a sting operation was done by media along with the cops where in large godowns were raided and it was found that they were bottling duplicate medicines with such neatness that a normal person could not differentiate between orignal and duplicate.....they were most of the commonly used medicines like crocin syrup for kids, flagyl, diegene, various cough syrup....it was some crores scam and i am glad that they were caught...but i still feel very scared to give medicine to my son...i also have a habit of checking the expiry date of the medicines that i buy..Do you check the manufacturing and expiry date on your medicines?

Hi Dear u r right, this sad act is very common here and as we have highrt illiteracy rate so very few can read that, and i am sure most of not aware of such thing. As far as i am concern, i go to specific and good shops where i know that i will not get duplicate medicines and sure manufacturing date, expiry date, and also where they are placing it, some time temprature play role as well. I know using expory medicince can be dangerous, i really wonder why they do this as they can send back expired medicice to company But Stilll Take care

I certainly do, and I get rid of any expired medicines. My doctor said they expire because after that date the chemicals can change and you may be taking poison instead of something beneficial! I also check the prescription before I give it to the pharmacy. You won't believe how many times they can make mistakes! I've had to correct them on some occasions, usually in the busier pharmacies with a lot of orders to fill. They're always grateful that I paid attention and thank me for correcting them.

that is indeed the best way to do it and i am glad that you correct the pharmists and they thank you..here if you correct them they get annoyed because they normally dont expect people to cross check what they give ..anyways i prefer being more careful..thank u dear for writing in..
