Natural Curl

I've always had naturally curly hair. People tell me all the time that I should feel blessed that I have it, but it is so much of a pain to take care of because it tends to get really, really frizzy and it is very easy to get tangled. Does anyone else have naturally curly hair? If so, how do you feel about it?

Hi my friend I'm sorry but I don't have curly hair. I have perfectly straight hair. I want curly hair!! When I was working, I even had my hair shorter and permed so it would be curly. Isn't it strange that people who have straight hair want curly hair and people who have curly hair want straight hair. lol Have a great day, Char

I have naturally curly hair too and yes, it's a pain. It gets tangled easily. When I was younger, my mom used to comb my hair after shower, and tugged real hard to untangle it. It was so painful. Don't talk about frizz. My hair only looks nice for 20 mins after shower and comb, then it starts to frizz the entire day when it's dried. When I go to the hairdresser, they always tell me that I can't choose the hair style I selected because my hair is curly. After they decided the best hair cut for me, they will try to blow dry my hair which takes a super long time because they are trying to straighten my hair to look good in the haircut they have selected for me. At times, they say this part is really curly and they can't straighten them anymore. But it's not permanent - the straightening, so after 30 mins or so, my hair starts to curl again. I doesn't matter what hair cut I got, it just looks horrible the next day.

I relate totally. That is exactly how it is for me. I hate going to the salon too because they don't really know how to work with my hair. Happy MyLotting!

My hair is pretty straight, but my 17 month old daughter has really curly hair. She hates for me to mess with it. I got her some Sunsilk brand leave in conditioner last week and it really helps me deal with her curls. You just use a little bit and work it through all the hair and then you can comb through it no problem. I have been blow drying her hair afterwards to get the curls to relax a little bit. Since I started using that stuff on her she will let me do her hair. I got to play with her hair for close to 30 minutes the other day.

I have naturally curly hair .. I keep it short and I learned to work with it .l in the summer when the weather is hot I let it do what comes natural and don't fight it at all .. in the cooler months I can style it more easier ..

I hear the same thing - how people pay good money to have hair like mine. I HATE it. I spend probably anywhere from 45mins - to a hour& a half straightening it. If I don't, I just have this big puff of curls and frizz. It drives me nuts! Unless someone has naturally curly hair, they just don't know what a pain it can really be.

Yes, I totally agree, unless you have it then you don't know what a big pain it is. Thanks for the comment! Happy MyLotting!

I have curly hair and I love it. It takes me no time at all to fix it. I don't even own a comb or a brush. I keep it very short. After I wash it, I towel it dry and put it where I want to with my fingers. It stays right there. I have a head full of ringlets. I don't straighten it; if it was supposed to be straight, it would be straight. I think the trick is to keep it short. Good luck with yours.
