How to stop a sneeze?

Do you find it so embarrassing when you keep on sneezing in front of public when you are giving a talk or presentation? I had this experience before. There was once,when I was about to start my presentation,suddenly something irritated my nose and I kept on sneezing. I just could not stop,so embarrassing. I did not know how to stop sneezing. I just said" excuse me" and walked off to other place to get some fresh air. What do you think? Sneezing in front of people sometimes can be a very impolite behavior,but we just cannot stop it. Do you know have any ideas on how to stop a sneeze? Any stories to share? Thanks.

I used to stop a sneeze especially when I am in front of many people or talking with my boss, or when I am in the meeting. What I did is that before the sneeze came out in my nose, I immediately hold my nose until it stops. But I read from an article that stopping a sneeze may be dangerous and cause some injuries. I seem to have alot of minor allergies and sneeze alot. i find that holding your nose shut briefly will stop a sneeze. the problem with that is that it looks kind of strange and people are probaly wondering why you are sitting there holding your nose. I try to just sneeze and get it over with most of the time. i always seem to sneeze in a school. maybe I'm allergic to school!

when we sneeze in front of a lot of people, people tend to laugh at us. but if they can only take a second and think we cant really control a sneeze coming. we can control our galblader and can take a minute or so before we pee but we cant control a sneeze. for me it is not impolite this accidents really happen and it is not what we want to happen. just make sure you say excuse me after and make sure you cover while sneezing and did not sneeze at anyone.
