some people have been posting the same thing that you get in forwards in emails or things that are rumors etc and when i know its full of crap i wonder if its even worth to keep telling them where to go to prove its wrong (a.i. snopes.com)or if they already know and just trying to spread it.. i dont want to promote ignorance but i dont think most of them check back and see if people responded to where saying something would stop them or change their minds.. obviously i dont want to - or ! them since i think everyone has believed something they have received email wise at once in their lives (some people more lol) but i dont think its right to keep spreading it around.. to me putting it on mylot is worse than getting them via email because at least email you can delete and know pretty much from the subject line.. should i keep replying to the people and give them links that prove its false? or just give up since i have been doing this already and it hasnt gotten better.. lol.. i havent noticed a trend to where its just one person doing it so.. if i were to do it i would want people to correct me so... just a pet peeve of mine when i see something false put up or something outdated that makes people scared or something and they just proved it all a hoax etc recently..

Yeah, I'm one of those that tries to set the record straight, too. I regularly look things up on Snopes and other sites to check the veracity of some of the wild claims I've see here and other boards.
