"Jump" ! - no way

Hey folks,
I keep wanting to do a skydive for my charity. The thought of it is fantastic. Trouble is ... I'm a bloomin chicken. Race a car - no problem - jump out of a plane ... scaredy cat !
What is it like just as you have to jump out for the first ever time? Is it poo your pants time?
I could use a bit of advice from someone who's done it - boy or girl.

I've never jumped from a plane. I wanted to do it a ton of times when I was younger, but the cost was just not worth it to me, so I never did it.
I did go bungee jumping once. It was a TON of fun, but I am so scared of heights. The scariest part is getting the courage to step off that ledge. once you are falling, it's really fun!!

Oh my goodness. How could you do that? I'd prefer a plane. You have got so much bottle - I envy your courage Cassidy.

I've never done it but I have a friend who loves it and jumps as often as he can. He's about 5'8" tall and weighs all of about 125lbs. soaking wet...oh, and he's a computer geek...so, if he can do it, a strapping young man like you can surely do it!

I'm not that strapping - only 5' 4". Your friend has my complete respect. Do you think it helps if you are 'slightly mad' - as Freddie once sang?
