...or alteat that's what they keep telling me.
For no good reason at all, in the last three moths I've goten atleast a dozen scams a day. Someone in Nigeria eeds me help to transer $3 Million that is in the sane of some poor widow's dead husband... someone else was injured in some war somewhere, and they're now refugees in London. They need me to help them trasfer $5 Million to the moher of a deceased comrade... what the hecl?
I've heard of these scams before. MSNBC even did a documentary on how hey work, but why am I geing so many of them now, where I didn't before? Is it something in he waer?
Anyone else having this prolem?
When I see these things I always look at the return e-mail. Today I got one from an aol.com address so I promptly forwarded it to abuse@aol.com. Yesterday I go one from gmail, so I did he same thing, sending it to their ause e-mail. Others have come from yahoo.fr and yahoo.hk. They too, have abuse e-mails.
The est thing anyone can do when they get oe of these spam-scams is to check the doma name and send it to abuse @ that domain. whatever, and then mark the original message as SPAM.

i'm rich like you. i've won a lot of lotteries in different countries. i've won a lot of laptops, and i've been the lucky 999,999th winner day after day for 3 years. and they tell me it's for real. WOW, i can't believe this is happening to ME. and there are perfect strangers that trust me to handle large sums of money and in exchange for my honesty i'll get a few thousand out of it. yeah we're living the life.

That's one way of doing things, but it's inconvenient as h3ll, since I've had this particular e-mail address for almost 10 years, and everybody knows it.

Me too!!! I get around 5 of these a day in my hotmail account. Luckily they haven't reached the account I pay for. I normally delete them but I might start doing what you're doing & send them to the abuse email. If it wasn't a scam, imgine how rich everyone would be. I've even had one saying it was from a deceased US military person - these spam emails are sad huh?

I have a more interesting story to tell from one of the lottos they said I have won and then they sent me a cheque of 13cents and to get that much of big money I was required to pay 10$ to submit the cheque, so naturally instead of depositing I have kept that huge amount as a momento that I had won a lottery.

Yes, I am Rich – spiritually for once. For those lottery scams, they are not new story anymore but still going everywhere if possible. They keep trying and are targeting those innocent and naïve people, who may fall into the trap. I hope the government can do something to alert the people not to make such high-priced mistake.

I've always wondered how to report those scams!
Thanks for the tip.
Yep. I get tons of emails like that too.
Usually they hit the spam filter before I have
a chance to read them.

I used to receive at least one of these emails every month but lately not so much. I think that maybe they are realizing that most people on the internet are not going to fall for these emails anymore, I hope anyways. I almost fell for one once, till they asked me for my bank account number and for my driver's license. Then I realized that it was a scam. That happened to me when I was a newbie on this make money on the internet stuff. I guess that is what they are looking for, newbies to scam. I would be really rich by now too, especailly since I got so many of them. I don't seem to get them very often anymore though. I hope they stop coming for you too.

I get those a lot from my primary email..There's a point in time where i so wanted to delete that account because i get those spams a thousand times a day already!! Many times i got some even from Microsoft or yahoo!! And they are spammers too...
I just dont know why they get passed the spam blockers!! I am already tired of checking them one at a time and marking them as spams...Even when i have already sent them in the spam folder, they still sometimes get thru my inbox...

I get those kind os messages too. Lots of them, and they have the same stories with only different names. There's also this one with the United Nations" letterhead in it. I also don't know how it all started but i get them everyday. I always mark them as spam but now that you've mentioned it i will send them back too. Thanks.

I just wish that life is really that easy that someone has gave you that large amount of money. Or that I have a won a lottery, or some schmuck has given me something or even just a gift. And I would be really thankful and would have shared that millions to other people as well so that they too can experienced what I did. But life is unfair and we have to face the reality that there are this scammers/spammers that think there are a lot of stupid people who will fall for their trap. Don't be the next victim for I sure won't.

I always mark them as spam, but I didn't know that there was the option for reporting abuse as you describe it.I think the more active you are on the internet, the more of these you get. At least that is how it seems to me. They must get my e mail from somewhere.

yeah I get them all the time but my favourites are the ones where my account is in jeopardy at the chase Manhattan Bank, and as you know I do not have an american bank, lol, the most dangerous is the paypal ones because I am afraid that some people will actually believe them.

I received those SPAM mails too and you mentioned MSNBC did a documentary on how they work, can you provide the address? I like to know how they work and why I kept receiving these SPAM mails, very annoying and filling up unnecessary space in my Inbox. You mentioned that send the SPAM mails to abuse@that domain, does it works? I will give it a try the next time I receives any of the SPAM mails.

I use to get those emails like crazy. Then I started writing them back and telling them to take me off of their list. I knew it was a scam and please stop sending me those emails. Now I don't get them as much. Every now and then maybe one or two of them but not like I use to get. I thought that I did when something when i got a lottery check but that turned out to be another scam too. I know that if you really win something they are going to send it to you and that is that. Be careful, and have a good one.
